More Bribes, This Time Less Obvious

Obama is frantically scrambling for votes in the House to shove the Senate's version of the healthcare bill down the throats of the American people. What better way to buy a vote than to offer a federal judgeship to the brother of one of the House Democrats who voted against the bill in November?

That's right, Jim Matheson from Utah voted against the House health care bill in November. Not so coincidentally, the White House sent out a press release announcing that Obama nominated Scott M. Matheson, Jr. to be a judge on the U.S. Ct. of Appeals, 10th Circuit.

I guess this is a better bribery tactic than giving sweet deals to residents of entire states.

Tell Me Lies, Tell Me Sweet Little Lies

Sorry for the lack of Obama-nations. I've been so busy and with the little free time I've had I haven't felt like infuriating myself by reading or writing about the communist in chief.

Some fun little tidbits about Obama:
1. Last week he talked about how important frugality was, at the same time he's on track to be the biggest debtor President in US history. He will outspend FDR, even though FDR was dealing with the Great Depression and WWII. During FDR's 12 fiscal years as Pres., federal spending averaged 19.35% of GDP. During Obama's four years, his federal spending will average 24.13% of GDP. Actually, during FDR's first 8 fiscal years, he only spent 9.85% of GDP. That was until the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor.

2. He's still defending that STUPID spendulus bill. He had the gall to say it already created 2 million jobs and it will create 1.5 million in 2010. Do you think we're stupid Obama? A CBS poll recently showed only 6% of Americans thought it created jobs!!!! SIX PERCENT! Even the hard core left doesn't think it created jobs.

3. He recently referred to the Bush years as the "lost decade". Really Obama? When Bush was pres. unemployment averaged between 4 and 5% and I remember my 401k had a lot more than it does now.

4. On Feb. 2, he said all the "red ink" in the federal budget "keeps him awake at night". His solution? Sign an executive order creating the bipartisan National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform to make recommendations on how to reduce the country's debt. That's after he approves a budget that is over $1 trillion in the red.

More Sweet Deals for Labor Unions

This one will make you mad. Have you heard that in order to pay for Obama-care, people who receive a "Cadillac" health insurance policy from their employers are going to be taxed on it? Under the Senate Finance plan, health insurance plans that cost more than $8,000 a year for individuals ($21,000 for families) will pay a FORTY percent tax on the amount above that threshold. I think the insurance company picks up the rest of the tab. Not that it matters who pays it, the ultimate cost will be paid by the insured.

Anyone who has shopped around for insurance knows that it is very easy for a healthy person's insurance plan to cost more than $8,000 a year. And guess which group has a large number of its members with Cadillac plans? I'll give you a hint - they are a huge supporter of Democrats. That's right, labor unions. Labor unions are mad about this new tax.

So guess what they are doing - negotiating with Democrats on an exception to that tax for unions. Reportedly, the unions will drop their objections to the tax if Democrats will carve out an exception to the tax for those plans negotiated under a collective bargaining agreement. I Declare You Unconstitutional, Obama!

I'm rather slow in finding out about this, but did you know that portions of the health care bill passed by the Senate specifically say they cannot be repealed except by a three-fifths vote of the Senate? Are you kidding me? You pass a bill that forces me to buy health insurance, and then you tell me it can only be repealed by a supermajority? I don't think so!!!! That's not constitutional. Of course, who is going to say it's not? A supreme court stacked with Obama nominees?

You're Not Forcing Me to Buy Insurance!

I just started reading Michelle Malkin's book entitled Culture of Corruption and it is horrifying. Page by page it lays out the broken promises, lies and corruption in Obama's administration - which isn't even a year old. For example, he broke his promise that his administration would be transparent and would give the American people five days to review a bill before he signed it into law - with the very first bill he signed. Since then, no bill has been online 5 days before being signed. Most haven't been online at all and some were posted after they were signed.

Speaking of dirty tricks, what do you think of that trick the Senate pulled? Voting Christmas eve morning, when most Americans are occupied, on a 2,000 page healthcare bill no one has read, using OUR money to bribe a Nebraska senator into voting for it, mandating that individual citizens buy products in the private market or face fines - is this the America we know and love? Not everyone needs health insurance. I can think of several groups of people who would be better off saving their money - but under this bill, either you buy it or you pay $750 a year to the feds. I don't think so. I've already decided what I will do if I ever ever receive a notice like that, but I am too much of a lady to write it here.

And another thing, is it a coincidence that after Obama took office the Muslims start coming out of the woodwork? Bush kept us safe after 9/11, but now we have a crazy Muslim doctor killing 13 people at Ft. Hood and a crazy Nigerian Muslim getting onboard a flight with a homemade explosive device. Maybe it's too early to blame Obama, but the US had plenty of warning about both of those guys but did nothing. Only time will tell if this trend will continue, but these incidents dishearten me, as does Obama's attitude towards the War on Terror- oops, I meant the Overseas Contingency Operation.

My Grade for Obama

Are you prepared to puke? OK, read this article about Obama's interview with Oprah. Oprah asked him what grade he gave himself on his time in office and he said a B+. If he gets health care passed, he is getting into the A- range!! Can you believe that? Here's the report card I would give him:

1. Political appointments and advisors: F-

- examples: John Holdren, Kevin Jennings, Anita Dunn, Van Jones

2. Creating jobs: F-

- examples: threatening to raise taxes on small businesses in the form of forcing them to provide healthcare for employees and Cap & Trade; unemployment rising to double digits, underemployment at record levels

3. Decreasing the deficit: F-

- "stimulus bill", the fact that Obama's budget will create $9 billion in budget deficits over the next decade (more debt than every year from 1789 to 2008 combined)

4. National security: F-

- closing Gitmo & bringing terrorists here, scrapping missile defense shield, no more waterboarding, cutting our high tech weapons days after N. Korea starts launching missiles left and right, cutting funds from a program that allows pilots to carry guns on board, releasing security memos about torture interrogation methods

5. Protecting human life: F-

- appointing one radical pro-choicer after another, signed an order allowing federal funds to be used on embryonic stem cell research, repealed "Mexico City policy", health care rationing

6. Foreign relations: F

- gives our allies bogus gifts, makes the US look weak to enemies, criticizing the US constantly to other nations. bowing before every leader you encounter, ignoring a corrupt Iranian election

7. Health Care: F-

- trillions of debt in order to have the best health care system in the world turned over to the same people who run the IRS and the post office

8. Containing Government Waste: F-

- "stimulus" bill, cash for clunkers, trillion dollar deficits annually for as far as the eye can see, Cap & Tax

9. Improving Public Education: F-

- in bed with teachers unions, cut a voucher program for poor black DC school children

10. Being a complete jackass: A+
