Obama just decided to give eastern Europe a big screw you in order to suck up to Russia by scrapping Bush's plans to build a missile defense shield. The replacement system he is implementing instead is "likely to allay some of Russia's concerns" according to Robert Gibbs. Instead of siding with our allies, Poland and the Czech Republic, Obama chose "setting back the gradual progress toward repairing relations with Russia". Another doozy: the Obama administration just concluded that a cap and trade law would cost American taxpayers up to $200 billion a year, the equivalent of hiking personal income taxes by about 15 percent.
