A couple of follow ups to some previous Obama-nations:
- Don't you just love it when a huge global warming protest gets cancelled by a massive snowstorm?
- Also, watch this video to Obama from kids who have benefitted from the D.C. voucher program. The video says that Obama hasn't taken a position on the issue, but I think by approving a bill that cuts funding for the program he has spoken loud and clear. You can also click here to read what the Washington Post, a left wing newspaper, thinks of the cancellation of the voucher program (hint: they are actually on our side). (P.S. Do you think the parents of all those kids, who undoubtedly voted for Obama, would admit to having voter's remorse?)
Now, the Obama-nation of the day:
If you can stomach visiting Barack's official campaign website and need a hearty laugh, click here. Then click on the heading reading "Shine the Light on Federal Contracts, Tax Breaks and Earmarks". Then think about Obama's $410 billion budget that contained between 7,000 and 9,000 earmarks. It's almost funny. Except he's less than two months into his term.

Obama the Party Animal
After being at 9,600 on election day, the Dow's just tumbled below 6,800. (Something is making investors very nervous.) People are losing their jobs and their savings. So what's Obama doing? Partying like it's 1999. Read this article about the "burst of entertaining" that has overcome the White House. Disgusting.
No School Choice for D.C. Minorities!
This stinks. It really stinks.
A $410 Billion omnibus spending bill is lurking out there. A second chance for Democrats to blow more of our money.
However, they will NOT blow money on school choice! In the bill, there is language designed to kill the Opportunity Scholarship Program. This program gives families in D.C. up to $7,500 a year to attend the schools of their choice. D.C. schools spend over $14,000 per year per pupil and are among the worst schools in the country (students score last in math and next to last in reading among all urban schools in the US). To qualify, a student's income must be at or below 185% of the poverty level. 99% of the students who participate in the program are minorities. Studies show that participants in the program do better than those not in the program. The program is so popular that there are 4 applicants for each voucher. Without the vouchers, 80% of those students will attend failing public schools. Click here to read more about the voucher program.
Well, the word from the AP today is that Obama is going to sign this spending bill. Click here. The story actually said Obama would hold his nose and sign it, despite it containing more than 8,700 earmarks.
So let me get this straight. Obama's daughters go to a school that's about $30,000 a year. But he wants to cut out a program that allows other very poor, minority students in the same area to attend private schools for half the cost of a failing public school.
YOU ARE OBAM-INABLE!!

The Spending Monster
Some fun facts about Obama's proposed budget (courtesy of michellemalkin.com):
In 2009, federal spending will approach $4 trillion, or 28 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) – a one-third increase in the size of government in a single year. The budget released by the White House today is loaded with job-killing tax hikes and a slate of even more government spending. Overall, the blueprint projects a record $1.75 trillion deficit this year while doubling the national debt over the next ten years. Following are just 10 fast facts about the Administration’s budget, which our children and grandchildren will be paying for far into the future.
1. The Administration’s projected budget deficit of $1.75 trillion is higher than the last five years of deficits combined, and under this plan, we will see three consecutive trillion dollar deficits between now and FY 2012.
2. While it was purported to cut the budget deficit in half – from $1.75 trillion in 2009 to $533 billion by 2013 – this budget projects higher deficits in 2014 ($570 billion), 2015 ($583 billion), and 2016 ($637 billion). In 2019, the final year in the budget, the deficit is projected to be $712 billion.
3. Including the recently-enacted trillion-dollar “stimulus” spending bill, discretionary spending will soar by 24 percent this year under this budget.
4. The budget projects that the national debt will increase from $8.4 trillion in 2009 to $15.4 trillion in 2019.
5. The Administration’s budget contains $1.4 trillion in tax increases – tax hikes that will impact everyone, from small businesses, charities, and seniors to everyone who owns a 401(k) and anyone who flips on a light switch.
6. After promising that he will reduce taxes on 95 percent of Americans, the Administration’s budget establishes a $646 billion energy tax hike that will impact anyone who uses electricity, drives a car, or relies on energy in any way.
7. This budget forecasts more than $1.5 trillion in new health care spending, including a 10-year, $634 billion a health care “reserve fund.” The budget also calls for seven percent annual growth in Medicare and more than six percent annual growth in Medicaid over the next 10 years.
8. The budget includes a $750 billion placeholder for a second round of spending under the Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP), even though the first round of TARP spending is not yet finished, nor is there a clear explanation of how funds under the initial round was spent.
9. The Administration’s budget claims that reducing the number of troops in Iraq over the next 10 years will cut the deficit by $1.6 trillion; however, that is only because the budget allocates the same amount of funds for the Iraq war each year over the next decade, even though most combat troops may be withdrawn during the next 19 months. The savings are, at best, deceptive.
10. The budget provides a scant 2.9 percent pay raise for military personnel as required by law, less than a week after Democrats in Congress provided the necessary funding to implement District of Columbia locality pay for overseas Foreign Service officers, which would constitute an 18 percent pay increase.

Obama's Speech Last Night
I watched a little of the speech but it was too nauseating to spend much time on, particularly with the two clowns behind him. The most hilarious line in the whole speech: "As soon as I took office, I asked this Congress to send me a recovery plan by President’s Day that would put people back to work and put money in their pockets. Not because I believe in bigger government – I don’t."
He did a TON of rich people bashing, seeming to ignore that the vast majority of rich people got that way by working their butts off. And the fact that rich people are the ones who hire the rest of us. He also did lots of bank bashing, also ignoring the fact that banks made bad loans b/c they were forced to by the Democrats. And he bashed CEOs and corporate jets, as usual.
He mentioned that his plan to bail out homeowners who can't afford their mortgages would only help "responsible" borrowers. Oh really? How is the government going to determine who is a "responsible" borrower? I would just love to see the government guidance on who is responsible and who isn't.
Another laughable line: "And in each of these years, one million more Americans have lost their health insurance. It is one of the major reasons why small businesses close their doors and corporations ship jobs overseas." Oh really? I'm sure it isn't our punishing corporate tax rate, which you want to increase.
This is just frustrating. Oh well, if you want a little comic relief, you should watch this youtube video called "Democrats on an escalator".

The "Victims" of Hurricane Katrina
Remember Hurricane Katrina? Three and a half years ago?
Did you know that Hurricane Katrina's "victims" are still living in temporary housing provided by us, the taxpayers? The free housing was set to expire on March 1, giving the "victims" a mere 3 1/2 years of living on the taxpayer's dime. 6,866 families were set to be evicted. But now, a U.S. Senator from Lousiana has just announced that "under the Obama administration, we will have a willing partner on housing and the other recovery issues still facing the Gulf Coast" and free housing has been extended another 60 days.
I do feel sorry for anyone who lost a home in a hurricane, but 3.5 years? Come on! That is a long time. When Hurricane Katrina happened, my oldest daughter was a newborn who could barely hold her head up and didn't do much besides spit up all the time. Today she takes ballet lessons, knows her letters and numbers, has a full vocabulary, can ride a bike with training wheels, is potty trained, etc., etc.
So 3 1/2 years is long enough for a helpless newborn to develop into a fully functioning preschooler, but not long enough for these "victims" to actually find their own jobs or places to live?
Question: why does everything Obama does reward failure and punish success?

Obama Lecturing on Fiscal Responsibility? That's a Knee Slapper!
Did you know that Obama is speaking right now at a "fiscal responsibility" summit? That is the most hilarious thing I have heard all day! Obama speaking about fiscal responsibility? This is like Hitler speaking about cultural sensitivity. (FYI, for those of you who are easily offended, I am not saying Obama is like Hitler. Although both have in the past liked the idea of "civilian security forces". Click here to read more about that.)
While Obama is busy telling others how to spend their money, he has plenty of outstanding bills himself.
Courtesy of michellemalkin.com, his campaign still owes the city of Chicago $1.74 million for the victory party in Grant Park. His campaign still owes Springfield, Illinois $65,000 for workers' overtime. His campaign still owes Philadelphia $24,000 for several pre-election events.
So Obama, while you are racking up $1 TRILLION in debt for our grandchildren to pay and your campaign has many outstanding unpaid bills, maybe you aren't one to lecture anyone on fiscal responsibility.
Hey, maybe the taxpayers can bail out his campaign!
