Horrifying Choice for Barack

Obama's appointment of Eric Holder as attorney general is something I've been meaning to write about for a while. This is a horrible choice and reflects the inexperience Obama brings to the office. The more I read about Holder, the worse things get.

During the Clinton era, Holder played a leading role in the pardoning of fugitive billionaire Marc Rich. Holder was deputy attorney general under Clinton. Rich was a commodities trader who fled the U.S. in the early 80s to avoid prosecution for trading with the enemy, racketeering and tax evasion. Rich's wife was a major donor to the Clinton library, the Clinton legal defense fund and the Democratic party. Rich's attorneys miraculously received a pardon for their client from Bill Clinton by circumventing normal pardon requesting procedures. By definition, Rich was ineligible for a pardon and congressional panels were called to investigate how he received a pardon only hours before Clinton left office.

The congressional report released about the sale of the pardon stated that Holder played a major role in obtaining the illegal pardon, by assisting Rich's attorney Jack Quinn with the brokering the pardon. As deputy attorney general, he had to issue an assessment of the pardon request and he ruled he was leaning towards granting the pardon. Holder later admitted he wanted Quinn's help in his becoming attorney general in a Gore administration. Holder offered lame excuses for his role in the pardon by first claiming he didn't know who Rich was, then claiming he didn't think a pardon would be issued to a known fugitive. There are fascinating articles here and here which detail the completely ridiculous behavior of Holder.

Some other little tidbits about Holder I hate:

• He played a key role in the gunpoint kidnapping of Elian Gonzalez;
• He absolutely hates guns. He advocated federal licensing of handgun owners, a three day waiting period on handgun sales, rationing handgun sales to no more than one per month, banning possession of handguns and so-called “assault weapons” (cosmetically incorrect guns) by anyone under age of 21, a gun show restriction bill that would have given the federal government the power to shut down all gun shows, national gun registration, and mandatory prison sentences for trivial offenses (e.g., giving your son an heirloom handgun for Christmas, if he were two weeks shy of his 21st birthday). He also promoted the factoid that “Every day that goes by, about 12, 13 more children in this country die from gun violence”–a statistic is true only if one counts 18-year-old gangsters who shoot each other as “children.” . . . Bottom line, this guy is almost as frightening as Barack himself.

Way to Change your Position Barack!

This piece of news isn't really that much of an Obamanation to me. I think Bush has done a great job of keeping America safe. But it's completely the opposite of everything B.O. said when he was running for president:

Remember how opposed Barack was to the war and how horrible he made Bush and McCain out to be when he discussed the war? Remember some horribly offensive remark he made about our troops air-raiding villages and killing civilians? Well, now that he's almost in office, maybe Bush's policies aren't looking so bad - he kept Bush's defense secretary and the news now is that he's keeping most of Bush's political appointees at the Pentagon. Click here to read more. Interesting - so he likes Bush's defense guys and he's thinking of postponing tax increases on the wealthy. Is he realizing that conservative policies are the only way for this country to succeed?

Barack's Positively a Socialist

Now visit http://www.pslweb.org/site/PageServer?pagename=contactus which is the website for the Party for Socialism and Liberation. Barack's phone number on google is the same as the phone number for their San Francisco offices! HMMMM.

I know this is just a joke, that's not actually his home phone number, but hats off to whoever did it. Ha ha.

No Conscience Allowed

This week, Bush's people are finalizing a federal regulation allowing medical staff a right to refuse to participate in any procedure they object to on moral grounds. This is mainly aimed at abortion. The regulation is expected to be published this week, and it will take 30 days to be issued. For decades, federal law has said that health care workers can't be forced to perform abortions. The new Bush rules broaden the law to allow health care workers to refuse to provide information, such as a referral, to patients seeking abortions.

According to the Wall Street Journal, officials in Obama's administration are already considering when and how to undo the regulation. Officials close to Obama's transition team have stated they intend to begin the regulatory process to overturn the regulation. Click here to read more.

Too bad health care workers, under Obama's regulations you are not allowed to have a conscience. Very fitting for the new administration.

Wow, Another Crook in Obama's Life

He knows how to pick them:

his pick for energy czar (whatever that is, it sounds like a made up job that pays a lot to me): Carol Browner. On her last day in office in 2000 as head of the EPA, she oversaw the destruction of computer files although a federal judge ordered her to preserve its records. She claimed she was merely deleting computer games on her hard drive as a "courtesy" to the incoming Bush administration. Lovely. The EPA was later determined to be in contempt of court. Early in her term as head of the EPA, she got caught using taxpayer funds to create and mail illegal lobbying materials to environmental lobbying organizations.

Here's a side note: I'm sure you are all familiar with the Associated Press, which is the only nationally oriented news service based in the U.S. It supplies news stories to newspapers, radio and T.V. stations. You have to hand it to them, they know how to uncover and report juicy stories - did you know on December 10 they cracked the story of Obama's associations with some extremely shady characters? Click here to read more. Wow, where on earth did they hear that? It must have been their top notch journalism. Too bad they waited until after the election to report it - well, I'm sure it was just an oversight, won't happen again, and has nothing to do with the fact he's a liberal and they're in love with him.

No More Debt Obama!

Obama wants to spend his way out of a recession. His plan "might reach $1 trillion over two years". One TRILLION dollars we are most likely borrowing from China? Why does he think borrowing our way out of economic trouble is the answer? What about those checks sent to everyone earlier this year? Did they do one iota of good for the economy? Where are all the fiscal conservatives?

Thanks a lot Barack

You know how Obama is constantly blaming Bush and the republicans for the economy? And for some reason the polls always favored Obama when the economy mess hit the fan? The mess was caused by too many bad home loans given to people who shouldn't have qualified for them. The republicans tried to sound the warning bell but the dems didn't listen (even Saturday Night Live admitted this in a hilarious skit - click here to watch).

Did you know Obama's name appears on a lawsuit on behalf of ACORN, which sued Citibank for failing to make loans to minorities? Why do you think Citibank wouldn't make loans to said minorities? Is it because they wouldn't qualify for a loan? Do you think these practices are what led to the mess?
