Shouldn't the president of the U.S. be able to qualify for a basic government security clearance? He is, after all, the most powerful person in the world, protector of the U.S. and defender of its secrets.
But B.O., by many accounts, would not qualify for one, even though unfortunately that's not a requirement to be president. Here are some reasons:
1. having foreign national relatives who are not friendly to the U.S.
2. drug use
3. ties to known terrorists
4. his issues with honesty
