Some facts about Sotomayor, Obama's radical supreme court nominee:
- she is one of only 3 federal judges to rule that the 2nd amendment doesn't apply to states - meaning that if a city or state wants to ban all its residents from owning any type of guns, that is fine with her.
- she believes that "global warming is killing America"
- she's a member of the National Council of La Raza, which promotes driver's licenses for illegal aliens, amnesty programs, and no immigration law enforcement by local and state police.
I'm not surprised by any of these facts about her. Obama's a radical leftist and so is everyone he nominates to any post in his administration.
Now, for the real Obama-nation of the day: rumors have been circulating that of the Chrysler dealerships closed recently, virtually all were donors to the republican party. So far, only one that has been closed is a democrat contributor. Chrysler execs were deposed about the closings, and testified that the closings were forced on the company by the White House. As a part of Chrysler's bankruptcy deal with the White House, the company agreed to close one-fourth of its 3,200 dealerships. In addition, the White House "car czar" is married to the former national finance chairman of the Democratic National Committee. There's a fascinating article here about the whole fiasco. Very fishy.

Another Round-up of Recent News
Sorry for the break everyone. I had a surprise medical problem a couple of weeks ago and ended up spending a week in the hospital. I'm now catching up on what the Obam-inable one has done recently.
1. North Korea just staged an underground nuclear test. Reminder: out of all of Obama's massive spending, what is one of the few areas he actually cut? Missile defense.
2. Obama nominated his first supreme court justice. Yes, she is both a woman and a minority, as predicted. This woman has a hard core record as a leftist on the Court of Appeals (but did we expect anything less)? In 2002, she said during a speech that it's appropriate for a judge to consider their "experiences as women and people of color" during decisionmaking. Wait a second, isn't justice supposed to be blind? She also has acknowledged that she believes judges aren't there to interpret laws as our founding fathers intended, but rather to make their own rules, saying that "the Court of Appeals is where policy is made." Judges like her are the reason that gay marriage is legal in Iowa, not because voters want it, but because judges do. We can expect bad things from this.
3. Obama's new car tax: Obama announced the nation's first national emissions standards for cars and light trucks. By the time the plan is complete in 2016, consumers can expect to pay an extra $1300 per vehicle. In addition, consumers can expect to pay an extra $700 for changes he's already approved. Wait, I thought he wasn't raising taxes on 95% of working families?
4. Michelle Obama, in a speech at UC Merced, urged graduates to "give something back". Did you know that between 2000 and 2004 the Obamas did give something back - less than 1% of their income was donated to charity. The biggest donation was made to the church that espouses hate towards America and white people.
5. Perhaps the most ridiculous of all things he's said lately: Obama told Americans "we're out of money . . . . this is a consequence of the crisis that we’ve seen and in fact our failure to make some good decisions on health care over the last several decades."
Yes, we are out of money b/c we don't have socialized medicine. Hey, wait a second, don't we have free healthcare for the elderly? And isn't that system completely, totally out of money? So how is adding more people to that plan going to help? Click here to read more.
6. Finally, a little comic relief: remember Obama vowing to close Gitmo, making a big deal out of that, emphasizing that we don't want that sad chapter to continue in America's history, etc. Well the Senate gave him a little dose of reality - they voted to not give any funding in order to close it. Ha ha ha ha ha.

Not Funny, Obama!
As you've all probably heard by now, a hack "comedian" at the White House Correspondents Dinner said she hoped Rush Limbaugh's kidneys failed and called him the 20th hijacker on Sept. 11. And guess who sat there laughing his head off? That's right, Obama thinks Sept. 11 jokes are funny and relishes the thought of one of his most popular critics dying of kidney failure. Then, Robert Gibbs, White House spokesperson, said that "“I think there are a lot of topics that are better left for serious reflection rather than comedy. I think there’s no doubt 9/11 is part of that." Oh really? Well maybe you should tell your boss that. He thinks 9/11 is something to be laughed at.
Also, the White House RAISED the estimated budget deficit for 2009 to $1.8 TRILLION. It took Bush 7 years to accumulate that much debt. For every dollar DC spends this year, 45 cents of it will be borrowed.
Now, my favorite quote I've heard recently: "They told me if I voted for McCain I would have a buffoon for a Vice President. And they were right!"

Where's My $11,000 Worth of Benefits?
Did you know Obama's proposed budget spends over $11,000 for each man, woman and child in America? Is my family going to receive over $44,000 worth of benefits from the federal government? We'd better, because we're going to be paying for it.
Also, did you know that if the US was located in Europe, we wouldn't be allowed to join the European Union because of our debt levels? That's scary!

Obama's In Bed With Labor Unions
It was big news this week that Obama is cutting $17 billion from his budget. That's a whopping one-half of one percent of the budget. It's also only 4.25% of the INCREASE in the budget under Obama, and it's only 2.2% of the spendulus package. It's only .85% of 2009's deficit.
The most obam-inable part of this? Guess what areas Obama is making his cuts in? 50% of the savings come from defense's budget, that was not unexpected given his track record of making this country less safe. But guess which other department whose budget was slashed by a whopping 9 percent? The unit of the Department of Labor in charge of regulating labor unions!! Let's see, first this week he strong arms secured creditors of Chrysler in order to save the labor unions, and now he is slashing the budget of a group in charge of investigating corrupt union practices. Unbelievable.

Change You Can Believe In, Part 2
OK, now I'm really mad. Obama's actions have hit close to home - my handsome hubby got laid off. I know the economy was going down when he took office, but Obama's stupid actions haven't helped. Instead of spending $1 trillion on nothing, which is what the spend-ulus package did, maybe instead he could have said no capital gains tax for a year. Or tax incentives to small businesses. Or anything other than blowing $1 trillion on things as ridiculous as hybrid vehicles we don't need, Amtrak and turning federal buildings into green spaces, none of which helps anyone I know but all of which will hurt everyone I know in the long run.
A little comic relief: Obama wants to impose an extra tax on aspirin. Why? Because it's white and it works.
Now, my Obama-nation: Obama's fuzzy math. During his press conference the other night, he claimed he's created or saved 150,000 jobs. Actually, we've lost 1 million jobs since Oh-crap took office. His 150K figures comes from what his advisors THINK the stimulus bill is doing. Click here to read more.
Another example of his fuzzy math? His tax cut to 95 percent of Americans. He claims that if you are refinancing your house, you are getting the equivalent of another tax cut: "And we launched a housing plan that has already contributed to a spike in the number of homeowners who are refinancing their mortgages, which is the equivalent of another tax cut."
Sometimes I wish I lived in his fantasy world. : (

Supreme Court, Abortion and Taxes, Oh My!
Sad news today - Obama will soon get to make his first Supreme Court appointment. This is where he can do the most serious damage in my opinion. I agree with a talk radio show host that I was listening to earlier that he will choose a minority, a woman, or both, and to heck with choosing the most qualified person. The only comfort I have is that he's replacing a liberal justice anyway.
Some happy news - Obama is now breaking his campaign promise that one of the first things he would do is sign the Freedom of Choice Act. Now it's not his highest legislative priority. I hope he breaks more promises like that. Click here to read more.
Now, for my main point, are you enjoying that extra whopping $14 a week you are bringing home in your paycheck? Assuming you're not one of the horrible rich, you should be taking home extra $$. That's great, right? Obama finally cut the poor working stiffs a break, right? Nope. This is not money in your pocket, that is merely the IRS changing the withholding tables for many, resulting in smaller refunds next year. Obama is apparently banking on the fact that Americans will see the extra bump in their paychecks, attribute it to him, and fail to realize next year when their refund takes a huge dip that he didn't really lower their taxes. Click here to read more.
