Round-Up of Health Care Obama-nations

Did anyone catch Obama on FIVE morning shows trying to sell his health care agenda? Nobody's buying what he's selling!

Here's a fun round-up of recent articles about his Obam-inable actions:

- first he argued with George Stephanopoulus when Steph. asked him about whether requiring people to get health insurance or be fined was a tax increase. Steph pointed out the definition of tax in the dictionary; Obama mocked him for that. Obama pointed out that everyone was required to get auto insurance and that wasn't a tax increase. (Stupid argument, only drivers are required to get insurance and only to protect others, under Obama's plan everyone will have to get insurance simply for existing). Click here.

- When confronted with ACORN's recent scandals and then the senate's vote to deny giving ACORN federal money, Obama played the idiot. He wasn't even aware ACORN was getting a lot of federal money! And he definitely did not commit to signing any bill cutting off federal ACORN money. Click here.

- Then comes the news that Obama is "open" to a a bill that would bailout newspapers. I'm sure that's completely unrelated to the story that the New York Times has given him TWO miles of coverage on the front page of its paper this year alone, virtually all of it favorable.

- Finally, this article amusingly points out that Obama wants his daughters left alone by the media when HE says so, but then uses a story of daughter Sasha's diagnosis of meningitis when she was a baby to sell his health care plan. Do you want them in the spotlight or not? And by the way, Obama and Michelle can't even agree on whether she had meningitis or not!

I Hate the Cap and Trade Bill, Part 2

North Korea launched four more missiles on July 4 as promised, bringing the total to seven. Grow a pair Obama.

I've been doing some more reading about the cap and tax bill. Some goodies (and click here to read more):

1. 85% of the carbon permits allowed will be given to utility companies, oil refineries, and other politically connected businesses.

2. Wall Street investment bankers who donated substantial sums of $$ will get to sell carbon permits. Hmmm.

3. Any government revenue created under this plan (i.e., money stolen from taxpayers) will go to projects such as "reducing deforestation in developing countries experiencing deforestation, including preparing developing countries to participate in international markets for international offset credits for reduced emissions from deforestation." So OUR money will be given to some guy in China so he will plant some trees? I don't think so!!!

4. Any evil carbons you emit can be excused if you do some offsetting. So do what you want as far as polluting, then do some offsetting. How do you do the offsetting you ask? By "improved manure management,” “reduced tillage/no-tillage,” or “afforestation of marginal farmlands.”

5. Projects receiving money under this bill will be required to use union-wage rules for its employees, making it hard for non-union employers to compete.

6. Utilities will be required to get 20% of their power from renewable energy sources (sun, wind, etc.) by 2020. These are very expensive sources of energy and don't work well in all parts of the country. Who will be paying for that? Me, everytime I flip a switch.

7. There will be $1 billion annually directed to the new Carbon Storage Research Corporation. Who will pay for that? Again, me.

8. Every single type of light fixture you can imagine is regulated under this bill. Get out of my living room Obama and let me use whatever type of lightbulb I damn well please!!!

9. The bill also covers appliances, including washers, dryers, TVs, showerheads, faucets and more. Now Obama's in my bathroom!

10. The EPA will be authorized to establish environmental standards for homes. Yes, you could be "greening" your home soon courtesy of the federal government. This applies to commercial buildings as well.

11. The EPA is also authorized to regulate greenhouse gas emissions from vehicles too. In addition to that $18 I spend to check my emissions every year to meet Georgia's requirements, will I soon be paying to meet federal requirements as well?

12. States aren't allowed to create their own greenhouse gas programs under this bill.

13. Utility companies are ordered in the bill to start preparing for deployment of electrical charging stations along roadways, in parking garages, and at gas stations, as well as “such other elements as the State determines necessary to support plug-in electric drive vehicles.” In addition, the secretary of energy is required to establish a large-scale vehicle electrification program and to provide “such sums as may be necessary” for the manufacture of plug-in electric-drive vehicles, including another $25 billion for “advanced technology vehicle” loans.

14. The secretary of energy is allowed to order that each car manufacturer's fleet be comprised of a minimum percentage of vehicles that run on biodiesel or ethanol.

15. College administrators will be given billions for "Clean Energy Innovation Centers". HA!

16. The Bill "authorizes the Secretary [of Energy] to make grants to community development organizations to provide financing to businesses and projects that improve energy efficiency.” Hmmmm, what is a community development organization that Obama's connected with? Could it be ACORN????

17. Don't forget the welfare checks that will be distributed each month under the bill.

These are 17 of the 50 most absurd provisions contained in the cap and trade bill that are listed in the article I referenced above. What other gems are hidden in there?

I Hate the Cap and Trade Bill

Remember that cap and trade bill Obama is attempting to shove down the US Senate's throat?

One of my radio commentators is actually attempting to read the thing. He found three little hidden gems in the 1200+ page document.

1. Singles making less than $17,000 a year and families of 4 making less than $33,000 a year will get "energy payments" from the government to offset the cost of this monster. Who's going to pay for that? Let me guess, those of us making more than that.

2. The Earned Income Tax Credit will double for those with no dependents.

3. Administrators of Medicare and Social Security will be able to tap into general revenues of the U.S. Government, if it is determined that the Cap and Trade bill has resulted in a reduction of revenues going into those two trust funds. In other words, if there are job losses from this bill (and you know there will be), the bigwigs at Medicare and SS can demand the government give them money that they didn't get because unemployed people aren't paying into Medicare and SS.

No Dissent Allowed Says Obama!

Alan Carlin, a scientist who has been with the EPA for 35 years, issued a report directly contradicting the science of man-made global warming.

His report reads “We have become increasingly concerned that EPA and many other agencies and countries have paid too little attention to the science of global warming. EPA and others have tended to accept the findings reached by outside groups…as being correct without a careful and critical examination of their conclusions and documentation.”

On March 12, his boss forbade him from having any communication with anyone outside his office about his study. In a later email, his boss stated “The time for such discussion of fundamental issues has passed for this round. The administrator and the administration has decided to move forward on endangerment, and your comments do not help the legal or policy case for this decision… I can only see one impact of your comments given where we are in the process, and that would be a very negative impact on our office.” In other words, Obama says shut up or else he'll have problems with his cap and tax bill, and the EPA will get a spanking from Obama.

Where's the transparency Obama? Click here to read more, or click here to read the emails, or if you're really bored, you can read the report here.

Cap and Tax Lies and the Liars Who Tell Them

As you've probably already heard, yesterday the House passed the "cap and trade" bill, also known as the "cap and tax" bill. This bill was 1,200 pages long, probably was read by virtually none of the congressmen who passed it, and is a complete piece of #$%^. It seeks to reduce carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions by EIGHTY THREE percent by the middle of the century. It affects none of the real polluters out there (are you listening China and India) but is expected to add around $1,600 (by some estimations) to each US family's expenses annually in the form of higher energy costs and higher costs for everything that's manufactured b/c of the ridiculous burden this bill places on manufacturers.

One the most ridiculous parts of the bill is the fact that that slobbering idiot Barney Frank put a "placeholder" in the bill that apparently will deal with regulations of financial derivatives market associated with reducing carbon emissions. Frank says he is confident a “good system will be in place.” Meaning we are supposed to believe they will come up with something intelligent and insert it where the "placeholder" is. Wait a second, wasn't he the guy who forced banks to make bad loans, leading to the "housing crisis", leading to our current economic state?

In addition, this bill is going to increase costs on our domestic oil by requiring domestic oil producers to pay for carbon dioxide released from their plants. Foreign oil won't have those carbon costs. Wait a second, didn't Obama want to decrease our reliance on foreign oil? Do you think this will help us compete?

Eight horrible Republicans voted for this thing. One proud moment for me was when my congressman, Tom Price, whom I correspond with regularly, stood up and said he wanted a moment of silence for all of those whose jobs will be killed under this bill. He was denied, of course.

Now, Obama is urging the Senate to pass it, saying it will cost each American only the cost of a "postage stamp" per day, and will help us to invest in clean energy. First of all, if I were to believe the lying Obama, I would still have to cough up an extra $1.64 for my family each and every day. I don't want to give DC another stinking PENNY. Second, that completely disregards the fact that this bill is going to force manufacturing jobs overseas. There is no way around that. Since my husband is an engineer for manufacturing plants, this could be bad news. Obama's response? "In California alone, 3,000 people will be employed to build a new solar plant that will create 1,000 permanent jobs." YEAH, RIGHT, just like all those stimulus jobs were going to save us. Just like the unemployment rate was going to drop, not skyrocket. I don't believe one single thing that comes out of that lying liar's mouth.

I heard some more shocking things about this bill (for example, we will be paying Brazil not to cut down trees) but I haven't had time to compile a list. It will come later.

CALL YOUR SENATORS AND TELL THEM IF THEY SIGN THIS, THEY ARE FIRED.

Another Round-up of Recent News

Sorry for the break everyone. I had a surprise medical problem a couple of weeks ago and ended up spending a week in the hospital. I'm now catching up on what the Obam-inable one has done recently.

1. North Korea just staged an underground nuclear test. Reminder: out of all of Obama's massive spending, what is one of the few areas he actually cut? Missile defense.

2. Obama nominated his first supreme court justice. Yes, she is both a woman and a minority, as predicted. This woman has a hard core record as a leftist on the Court of Appeals (but did we expect anything less)? In 2002, she said during a speech that it's appropriate for a judge to consider their "experiences as women and people of color" during decisionmaking. Wait a second, isn't justice supposed to be blind? She also has acknowledged that she believes judges aren't there to interpret laws as our founding fathers intended, but rather to make their own rules, saying that "the Court of Appeals is where policy is made." Judges like her are the reason that gay marriage is legal in Iowa, not because voters want it, but because judges do. We can expect bad things from this.

3. Obama's new car tax: Obama announced the nation's first national emissions standards for cars and light trucks. By the time the plan is complete in 2016, consumers can expect to pay an extra $1300 per vehicle. In addition, consumers can expect to pay an extra $700 for changes he's already approved. Wait, I thought he wasn't raising taxes on 95% of working families?

4. Michelle Obama, in a speech at UC Merced, urged graduates to "give something back". Did you know that between 2000 and 2004 the Obamas did give something back - less than 1% of their income was donated to charity. The biggest donation was made to the church that espouses hate towards America and white people.

5. Perhaps the most ridiculous of all things he's said lately: Obama told Americans "we're out of money . . . . this is a consequence of the crisis that we’ve seen and in fact our failure to make some good decisions on health care over the last several decades."

Yes, we are out of money b/c we don't have socialized medicine. Hey, wait a second, don't we have free healthcare for the elderly? And isn't that system completely, totally out of money? So how is adding more people to that plan going to help? Click here to read more.

6. Finally, a little comic relief: remember Obama vowing to close Gitmo, making a big deal out of that, emphasizing that we don't want that sad chapter to continue in America's history, etc. Well the Senate gave him a little dose of reality - they voted to not give any funding in order to close it. Ha ha ha ha ha.

Change You Can Believe In, Part 2

OK, now I'm really mad. Obama's actions have hit close to home - my handsome hubby got laid off. I know the economy was going down when he took office, but Obama's stupid actions haven't helped. Instead of spending $1 trillion on nothing, which is what the spend-ulus package did, maybe instead he could have said no capital gains tax for a year. Or tax incentives to small businesses. Or anything other than blowing $1 trillion on things as ridiculous as hybrid vehicles we don't need, Amtrak and turning federal buildings into green spaces, none of which helps anyone I know but all of which will hurt everyone I know in the long run.

A little comic relief: Obama wants to impose an extra tax on aspirin. Why? Because it's white and it works.

Now, my Obama-nation: Obama's fuzzy math. During his press conference the other night, he claimed he's created or saved 150,000 jobs. Actually, we've lost 1 million jobs since Oh-crap took office. His 150K figures comes from what his advisors THINK the stimulus bill is doing. Click here to read more.

Another example of his fuzzy math? His tax cut to 95 percent of Americans. He claims that if you are refinancing your house, you are getting the equivalent of another tax cut: "And we launched a housing plan that has already contributed to a spike in the number of homeowners who are refinancing their mortgages, which is the equivalent of another tax cut."

Sometimes I wish I lived in his fantasy world. : (

Supreme Court, Abortion and Taxes, Oh My!

Sad news today - Obama will soon get to make his first Supreme Court appointment. This is where he can do the most serious damage in my opinion. I agree with a talk radio show host that I was listening to earlier that he will choose a minority, a woman, or both, and to heck with choosing the most qualified person. The only comfort I have is that he's replacing a liberal justice anyway.

Some happy news - Obama is now breaking his campaign promise that one of the first things he would do is sign the Freedom of Choice Act. Now it's not his highest legislative priority. I hope he breaks more promises like that. Click here to read more.

Now, for my main point, are you enjoying that extra whopping $14 a week you are bringing home in your paycheck? Assuming you're not one of the horrible rich, you should be taking home extra $$. That's great, right? Obama finally cut the poor working stiffs a break, right? Nope. This is not money in your pocket, that is merely the IRS changing the withholding tables for many, resulting in smaller refunds next year. Obama is apparently banking on the fact that Americans will see the extra bump in their paychecks, attribute it to him, and fail to realize next year when their refund takes a huge dip that he didn't really lower their taxes. Obama's "Handshake"

There is so much depressing news coming from the Obama administration. He goes over to Europe and trashes us, calling us an "arrogant nation" and saying we aren't a Christian nation any longer. Actually, since as of last Sunday he hasn't gone to church any of the 11 Sundays since he's taken office (although during the campaign religion was such an important part of his life) and almost every single appointment he has made is pro-abortion at any stage of pregnancy, maybe he is an expert on who isn't Christian.

So let's think about something funny. Remember that very deep bow at the waist Obama gave to the king of Saudi Arabia? The White House is now claiming that it wasn't a bow, it was Obama shaking hands with the king, and since the king was so much shorter than he was, he had to apparently almost touch the ground to do so. That's hilarious. Obama, just admit you don't have any foreign policy experience, that's what happens when America elects someone who has accomplished nothing, and so America gets what it deserves. I would actually respect that. Click here to read more.

Now some good news! On April 15, there are now scheduled to be over 450 "tea parties" all across the country, with regular citizens protesting what Washington is doing. I am very excited. When I first went on their site to see where they were going to be held in GA, I think there were only 2, in Atlanta and Savannah. Now there are 15 in places I've never heard of in Georgia. This is a clue that people are starting to wake up and it is very encouraging. You can click here to see a google map with the locations of all the tea parties, but you have to wait a couple of seconds for all the locations to load.

Another Abortionist & Tax Cheat in Obama's Cabinet. Big Surprise.

Obama's nominee for Health & Human Services secretary, Kathleen Sebelius, just paid almost $8,000 in back taxes. This is the SIXTH nominee of Obama's to have tax problems. Why do these politicians think they can not pay taxes, and as soon as a job opens up in Obama's administration just write a check for taxes they never paid plus interest (but never penalties, which is what "normal" people get stuck with) and then go ahead and take the job? Because Obama lets them! The worst is Timothy Geithner, who has a paper trail showing he purposely avoided paying taxes. Geithner's job? Secretary of the Treasury. He also vowed to crack down on tax cheats. Hehe.

Sebelius has bigger problems than her tax woes. She is a radical pro-choicer. As a governor of Kansas, she has vetoed several bills that would restrict late term abortions. One bill would have strengthened the state's ban on late term abortions by authorizing private lawsuits against providers. The bill passed both Kansas legislative houses by a 2 to 1 vote. Another bill she vetoed would have required a medical reason for a late term abortion. She spoke at a Planned Parenthood fundraiser in 2007.

In 2007, she was requested not to take Communion in Kansas b/c of her pro-choice actions, and that request will also apply to her time in D.C. In 2007, pictures of surfaced of her with George Tiller at the governor's mansion. She was thanking contributors to her campaign. Tiller is a doctor who specializes in late term and partial birth abortions. According to Bill O'Reilly, who has investigated Tiller, Tiller will "abort babies at any time for just about any reason if you pay him $5,000".

Tiller has given over $12,000 in blood money to Sebelius's campaigns, and he gave $120,000 to the Democratic Governors Association, which also gave Sebelius's political action committee $200,000. Tiller is currently facing a disciplinary action from the Kansas Board of th Healing Arts for his ties to another late-term abortion provider.

Another radical pro-choicer, tax cheater in Obama's cabinet. I'm not surprised. Click here and here to read more about Sebelius.

Going John Galt

The conservative blogs I read are all talking about the phenomenon of "Going John Galt" that is already occurring as a result of Obama's policies that will punish the achievers. The title comes from Ayn Rand's book Atlas Shrugged (that I haven't read but will shortly). Apparently the book describes the achievers rising up and failing to produce. There are many, many real life examples of this in the articles I've been reading. Some are:

- a teacher who is going to quit his side consulting business b/c of the high cost of working for himself.
- a lawyer who will do everything possible to limit her income to $249,999.
- the owner of a small company that makes artificial limbs is moving his company to central America.

Click here and here to read more about this phenomenon, and click here if you are going to do this yourself and would like to be interviewed (the interviewer said she got over 400 emails from people living this phenomenon).

Obama's Second Tax Cheater Appointment

Obama appointed another tax cheat in a key position in his administration. This time it's Tom Daschle who was appointed to be secretary of Health & Human Services.

Did you know that in 1998, Daschle stated on the congressional record "Make no mistake, tax cheaters cheat us all, and the IRS should enforce our laws to the letter."

After Obama mentioned to Daschle that he might consider him for a high level job, suddenly Daschle had to file some amended tax returns. Oops, he suddenly remembered that he had forgotten to include the $255,000 dollar value of the limousine service that his employer provided to him for three years in his income. He also suddenly remembered that he had received $83,000 in consulting fees in 2007 that he didn't report. (I just hate it when that extra $83,000 slips my mind when I'm filing taxes, don't you?). He paid an extra $140,000 in back taxes to rectify his "mistake" that he suddenly remembered when Barack came calling. So I guess he's in the clear now.

Obama's Tax Plan

This is old news, but I'm sorting through my archived emails:

Obama claims he wants to cut income taxes on 95% of Americans. Which I don't believe, but say I did. Did you know that between 30 and 40 percent of Americans don't even pay income taxes? Typically this is because their income is too low to meet the minimum threshold to pay taxes.

Now how do you think you cut taxes on people who pay no taxes? Either (1) you don't, and he is lying, or (2) he gives tax refunds to people who pay no taxes.I actually don't think he is lying, I think he wants to give tax refunds to people who pay no taxes. That's right, you file your tax return, showing that you paid no taxes either because you are lazy, unskilled, or maybe you've fallen on hard times. Then you get a check for $2,000 in the mail from the people who go to work all day. That's called income redistribution and it should be Obama's middle name - actually, it might be a better name than Hussein.

But That's Not Fair!

Obama wants to almost double the capital gains tax from 15 percent to 28 percent. In other words, you buy an asset, hold it a while, it goes up in value, and when you sell it you pay 28 percent of your profit to the feds. Well, the government needs that money, right?
Actually, studies have concluded that when the capital gains rate goes up, government revenue goes down. So in the long run, it is actually COSTING them money to take money from us.
But Obama says he would consider raising the tax for purposes of FAIRNESS!!! In other words, they're rich and you're not and that's not FAIR so we're going to take it from them, even if that results in less money to the gov't. Give me a break! That's not capitalism and that's not the American way. If you don't believe me click here to hear it from the socialist himself: (If you want me to explain to you Barack's ridiculous example of a hedge fund manager and his secretary, let me know - it's a load of crap).
BTW, it's not only rich people that pay capital gains. Darrell bought a house in SC, worked his butt off on it many weekends, sold it at a profit and had to pay capital gains. I guess it wasn't fair that he was able to do that and others can't.
