Obama's Speech Last Night

I watched a little of the speech but it was too nauseating to spend much time on, particularly with the two clowns behind him. The most hilarious line in the whole speech: "As soon as I took office, I asked this Congress to send me a recovery plan by President’s Day that would put people back to work and put money in their pockets. Not because I believe in bigger government – I don’t."

He did a TON of rich people bashing, seeming to ignore that the vast majority of rich people got that way by working their butts off. And the fact that rich people are the ones who hire the rest of us. He also did lots of bank bashing, also ignoring the fact that banks made bad loans b/c they were forced to by the Democrats. And he bashed CEOs and corporate jets, as usual.

He mentioned that his plan to bail out homeowners who can't afford their mortgages would only help "responsible" borrowers. Oh really? How is the government going to determine who is a "responsible" borrower? I would just love to see the government guidance on who is responsible and who isn't.

Another laughable line: "And in each of these years, one million more Americans have lost their health insurance. It is one of the major reasons why small businesses close their doors and corporations ship jobs overseas." Oh really? I'm sure it isn't our punishing corporate tax rate, which you want to increase.

This is just frustrating. Oh well, if you want a little comic relief, you should watch this youtube video called "Democrats on an escalator".

The "Victims" of Hurricane Katrina

Remember Hurricane Katrina? Three and a half years ago?

Did you know that Hurricane Katrina's "victims" are still living in temporary housing provided by us, the taxpayers? The free housing was set to expire on March 1, giving the "victims" a mere 3 1/2 years of living on the taxpayer's dime. 6,866 families were set to be evicted. But now, a U.S. Senator from Lousiana has just announced that "under the Obama administration, we will have a willing partner on housing and the other recovery issues still facing the Gulf Coast" and free housing has been extended another 60 days.

I do feel sorry for anyone who lost a home in a hurricane, but 3.5 years? Come on! That is a long time. When Hurricane Katrina happened, my oldest daughter was a newborn who could barely hold her head up and didn't do much besides spit up all the time. Today she takes ballet lessons, knows her letters and numbers, has a full vocabulary, can ride a bike with training wheels, is potty trained, etc., etc.

So 3 1/2 years is long enough for a helpless newborn to develop into a fully functioning preschooler, but not long enough for these "victims" to actually find their own jobs or places to live?

Question: why does everything Obama does reward failure and punish success?

Obama Lecturing on Fiscal Responsibility? That's a Knee Slapper!

Did you know that Obama is speaking right now at a "fiscal responsibility" summit? That is the most hilarious thing I have heard all day! Obama speaking about fiscal responsibility? This is like Hitler speaking about cultural sensitivity. (FYI, for those of you who are easily offended, I am not saying Obama is like Hitler. Although both have in the past liked the idea of "civilian security forces". Click here to read more about that.)

While Obama is busy telling others how to spend their money, he has plenty of outstanding bills himself.

Courtesy of michellemalkin.com, his campaign still owes the city of Chicago $1.74 million for the victory party in Grant Park. His campaign still owes Springfield, Illinois $65,000 for workers' overtime. His campaign still owes Philadelphia $24,000 for several pre-election events.

So Obama, while you are racking up $1 TRILLION in debt for our grandchildren to pay and your campaign has many outstanding unpaid bills, maybe you aren't one to lecture anyone on fiscal responsibility.

Hey, maybe the taxpayers can bail out his campaign!

Dude, Where's My Mortgage Modification?

OBAMA = One Big Ass Mistake America.

Obama unveiled his new plan to save the housing industry. It's called the "Homeowner Affordability and Stability Plan". (I would call it the "Reward Those Who Make Poor Choices and Punish Those Who Do Pay Their Mortgages Every Month Plan). It will cost us $75 Billion (which I'm sure is lowballing it).

Did you know that under the plan, homeowners who aren't making their payments will get a special, modified loan? To reward them for making their payments on time under their new mortgage, now they'll get $1,000 taken directly off the principal of their loan every year for 5 years!!! Now wait a second, we've been in our home almost 6 years and we've never missed a payment, where's my $5,000 off the principal??? Oh, that's right, we did what we were supposed to do, so we don't qualify.

Did you know the program will allow bankruptcy judges to just come in and modify mortgages?

Did you know that banks who agree to new mortgage deals with favorable terms for these homeowners who aren't paying will get cash as an incentive?

Where is the money for this coming from? It's going to take billions to pay these banks and these deadbeat homeowners. The cash comes from us, people who do pay their mortgages. So we are financing other people's mistakes.

Obama has obviously not heard that you don't reward failure and punish success. You can read more about this Obaminable plan here.

Change You Can Believe In

This is so true, from one of my favorite radio talk show hosts (Neil Boortz).

CHANGE YOU CAN BELIEVE IN

The Dow at a 10-year low.
A tax cheat running the IRS
Another tax cheat as the Chief of Staff
A trillion-dollar plus federal deficit
Over one-half of voters relieved of any federal tax liability
Government mandated limits on executive compensation
Three failed attempts and still no Commerce Secretary
Tom Daschle rides his free limo into the sunset - after paying taxes he evaded.
The White House performance czar turns out to be a tax cheat also
Lobbyists hired to work for the Obama Administration
The census gets politicized
Double government spending in one year
The word "freedom" fades into obscurity
Increasing home loan mortgage rates across the board
Millions of Americans made dependent on government
Moving unionization-by-intimidation forward
Welfare checks become "tax cuts."
Illegal aliens free to work on taxpayer-funded "stimulus" projects
Welfare reform reversed, states ordered to increase welfare roles
Move to silence critical talk radio shows
Selling Senate seats
Obama books in religious sections of book stores
More government workers, not private sector jobs
A government bureaucracy to intrude on doctor/patient relationships
Stage set for medical services rationing
Annual welfare checks for middle income families

Obama the Green, Follow-Up

A follow-up on my Obama-nation from yesterday, about Obama burning tens of thousands of gallons of fuel to fly to Colorado so he could sign his spendulus bill in a "green" environment. According to michellemalkin.com,

Thought you might find this interesting - according to the info I found on Boeing’s website and elsewhere, the 747-200 that operates as Air Force One uses anywhere from 5 to 7 gallons of fuel per mile, depending on how full it is. At roughly 1500 miles from DC to Denver, that’s at least 15,000 gallons of fuel round trip. There are 33.4 kilowatt hours of energy in a gallon of fuel, meaning this trip will use about 500,000 kilowatt hours of energy. According to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science’s own website, their solar installation has generated only 90,000 kilowatt hours of energy since it was installed last June!

In addition, Biden went to the "historic" signing of this bill too. Do you think he and Obama rode in the same plane? Why no, of course not, Biden took Air Force Two.

Gee, wouldn't it be nice to have a president who actually recognized what things cost, and tried to save the US money on things, including travel expenses? I wonder if there are any politicians out there who actually do things like that? Hmmm, I can think of one who chose to fly commercial and sold her state's airplane on ebay to save money for the state.

Is Obama Green or Red?

I can't decide if he should be called a green president b/c he claims to be an environmentalist, or a red because he's a socialist.

This morning I heard on Fox & Friends that Obama's flying in Air Force One to Denver to sign the spendulus package in the Denver Museum of Nature & Science which "is meant to underscore the investments the new law will make in "green" energy-related jobs."

Do you know how much fuel it takes to get Air Force One from D.C. to Denver? They said 10,000 gallons, although I didn't catch whether that was one-way or round-trip. They said that's what an average American will consume in 30 years.

So he will spend 10 or 20 thousand gallons of fuel to sign a massive debt package that will show what a "green" president he is? Not that I think the Pres. of the US should be riding a bike or flying commercial, but I don't think he should waste thousands of gallons of fuel in order to show how environmentally conscious he is. Sounds kind of like him lecturing Americans they can't keep their thermostats at 72 degrees while keeping his office extremely hot in the middle of the winter.

Also, here's an interesting post from redstate.com, outlining Obama's outright lie during the campaign that he will not sign any non-emergency bill without giving the American people five days to read it.

Just Try to Silence Me, Obama

A statement from the White House warned us "not to expect instant miracles from the $787 billion economic stimulus bill he will sign this week, but said it would help eventually.” White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said “the economy is going to get worse before it gets better.” Click here to read more. Wow, so we spent almost $1 trillion to "help the economy improve" but it's not actually going to do that anytime soon? Thanks, thanks a lot Obama.

This scares me worse than anything Obama has done so far: The Fairness Doctrine. In case you haven't heard of it, it is an old FCC rule that said that if you hold a radio broadcasting license and you present political ideas on your airwaves, you must present both sides equally. Extremely popular conservative radio talk show hosts like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity would be off the air, because none of their listeners care to listen to liberal nonsense. In fact, really no one cares to listen to liberal nonsense on the radio, as evidenced by the huge failures of almost every liberal talk radio host out there, and the huge successes of conservatives. Recently, there have been new rumblings among Democrats about reintroducing the Fairness Doctrine.

Back in March 2008, "Senator Obama does not support re-imposing the Fairness Doctrine on broadcasters,” said press secretary Michael Ortiz.

Now, however, his advisors aren't as definite that Obama doesn't support the Fairness Doctrine. Two of his top mouthpieces are now refusing to answer whether Obama would support it or not. Click here to read more.

If they take away talk radio from me, I swear I will not sit idly by. Let's keep an eye on this and see what the Obam-inable one has in store to silence conservatives.

What's Your Hurry, Obama?

Remember how utterly urgent it was to get that spendulus bill passed? The bill was released on Friday night and just HAD to be signed less than 24 hours later, even though it was 1,071 pages. Meaning none of the Senators or Representatives voting on it really had a chance to read it.

Well guess what, Obama is taking a long romantic Valentine's Day weekend off work, so the bill won't be signed into law until Tuesday anyway. Call me crazy, but what was wrong with waiting until Tuesday for the House and Senate to vote on it, then allowing Obama to sign it into law the same day? Is it because it contains so much crap that they were scared to let the American people read it?

Your Plan Disgusts Me, Obama

I am completely disgusted with Obama and his spendulus plan. The bill was released last night at 11 pm, is somewhere around 700 pages, and MUST be voted on today, before anyone's even read it. The biggest single spending plan in our nation's history, and no one's allowed to read it!
Did you know that the bill released is in non-searchable form, meaning that if you want to find something in it, you have to read the entire thing, you can't just search for certain words? I am too disgusted to put a coherent Obama-nation together for today. How about I just throw together some of quotes of the big spending liberal?

Speaking in Ohio on March 1, 2008, Obama said, "America is at its best when it's not fearful. I mean, if you think of our history, our most shameful times have been when we were afraid."

Speaking last week, he said that if we don't pass this spendulus bill, "This recession might linger for years. Our economy will lose 5 million more jobs. Unemployment will approach double digits. Our nation will sink deeper into a crisis that, at some point, we may not be able to reverse."

That sounds pretty fearful to me Obam-inable one!

On Obama's first full day in office, he said "The way to make government responsible is to hold it accountable. And the way to make government accountable is make it transparent so that the American people can know exactly what decisions are being made, how they're being made, and whether their interests are being well-served."

How is strong arming legislators into signing something they haven't read and the American people haven't read transparency?

He's Been Busy!

I've had company this week and haven't had a chance to keep up with what Obama's been doing. I'm catching up now and boy oh boy am I disgusted.

Spendulus Bill - The House and Senate are now working furiously to spend $1 Trillion of our grandchildren's money without delay. Many have admitted they haven't read the bill (which is 600 to 800 pages long and contains lot of hidden goodies, see below), but they just know they have to sign it NOW. Why delay spending $1 Trillion when your President is begging, pleading and threatening dire circumstances if the spend-ulus bill isn't passed now? Does Obama realize that a lot of what shapes the economy is consumer confidence, and when he preaches day after day how horrible things are he is only making it worse? Republicans are asking for 2 days to review the bill so Americans will know what it contains. Will they get it? I think 2 days should be a minimum to think about spending $1 Trillion dollars. And I think you should actually READ what you sign.

THE WORST OBAM-INATION: Health Care - Did you know there are several provisions in the bill (the version passed by the House) that will affect our health care and pave the way for socialized medicine? These provisions were slipped in without discussion, by whom no one seems to know, but I have an inkling who's behind it - the Obam-inable one. The bill allows our medical records to be tracked electronically by the government. It also creates a new government bureaucracy, "The National Coordinator of Health Information Technology", which will monitor treatments to make sure your doctor is doing what the federal government deems appropriate and cost effective. Hospitals and doctors that aren't "meaningful users" of the system will face penalties. In addition, there will be a "Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research." This "Council" will have the power to make determinations on the cost effectiveness of medical treatments, procedures, drugs, and medical devices. It's based on a U.K. board which approves or rejects treatments for patients by dividing the costs of the treatment by the number of years the patient is likely to benefit. Want a heart valve replacement Granny? Sorry, our government chart shows you are two years too old to get one, nice knowing ya. Read more about this frightening mess here.

Census - Did you know Obama wants to control the census? The White House is shifting oversight of the census away from the Commerce Department. The director of next year's census is going to report directly to the White House, instead of the Commerce Secretary. Why? The census is the basis for where government spending goes for everything, as well as where congressional districts are drawn. Read more here.

Anti-Religion Provisions in Bill
- Did you know the stimulus bill funds are prohibited from being used for the "modernization, renovation, or repair" of facilities that allow "sectarian instruction, religious worship or a school or department of divinity"? Read more here. That is just offensive considering everything else Obama is throwing our money at, including abortions in other countries. So we can use our money to fund abortions in other countries (including forced abortions in China) but NO MONEY for religion whatsoever. He is taking this country to hell in a handbasket.

Obam-inable Meeting with 9/11 and Cole Bombing Families - Apparently Obama took time from his busy schedule of threatening that the world will end if we don't go $1 Trillion in debt to speak with families of the victims of the USS Cole bombing and 9/11. “During the meeting, President Obama was wrong on the law, wrong about what Boumediene v. Bush afforded the detainees held at Guantanamo, and stated the public’s perception about Guantanamo is confused with Abu Ghraib.” Obama also admitted that Gitmo is “a pristine, professional operation.” Then why do you want to shut it down? You can listen to a radio interview with one of the family members at the meeting here.

Obama's Compensation Limits

Obama is coming unglued! He is not happy that even with a Democrat controlled House and Senate, he is having trouble getting this spend-ulus bill passed. What happened, he was so popular on the campaign trail! Why can't he just order us around now? Click here to read what he said last night.

The Obama-nation of the day: This week Obama signed a bill limiting the compensation of executives of companies who were receiving bailout money to $500,000. Sounds reasonable, right? It's unfair for those executives who have run their companies in the ground to get millions in compensation courtesy of the taxpayers, while the companies are laying off thousands.
No, it doesn't sound like a good idea to me for several reasons.
  • First, this is only Obama's first step in setting salaries for all kinds of companies in all kinds of industries. Just like his first step in instituting socialized medicine is giving insurance to children (b/c who can deny the children?), his first step in "spreading the wealth around" is limiting the compensation of executives getting bailout money, because who can object to that? It's a very slippery slope. It may sound silly now, but in 20 or 30 years, will there be a government pay chart telling us exactly what nurses or business people or cable guys can make? This is the first baby step to that. Next he will tell us what ANY company who gets any type of federal money (not bailout) can pay their employees, and then it will take off from there. That's not what America is about.
  • Second, to turn these companies around takes incredible business talent not possessed by just anyone. If someone with that type of talent and experience is only going to make $500,000 at one company, but millions overseas or at a company not receiving bailout $$, why work for the failing company?
  • Third, some of these executives ARE doing their jobs well. In huge corporations, maybe one honcho is leading his division to record profits, even though the company is overall losing money. Why should that honcho be punished?

Obama's Quote of the Day

Obam-inable quote of the day: If lawmakers don't pass this spend-ulus bill right now, "This recession might linger for years. Our economy will lose 5 million more jobs. Unemployment will approach double digits. Our nation will sink deeper into a crisis that, at some point, we may not be able to reverse," Obama wrote in a newspaper piece in the Washington Post. Way to go, Obama, let's terrify all Americans so you can get your way.

He also said that more tax cuts are NOT needed, saying "I reject these theories, and so did the American people when they went to the polls in November and voted resoundingly for change."

In other words, do it now or we are doomed. We will not be able to recover unless we spend $1 Trillion dollars on nothing. Do you know how much $1 Trillion dollars is? I really didn't grasp it until I watched Huckabee last weekend. $1 trillion could buy 1,000 boxes of Girl Scout cookies for every American (now there's a plan I might actually support). $1 trillion is $3,271 per person. $1 trillion would cover the Feb. 2007 market values of Microsoft, Wal-mart, Google, Coca-cola, Pepsi, Time Warner, and Apple combined with $23 billion left over.

Socialized Medicine, Here We Come!!

Oh man am I mad now. Barack's been in office what, 2 or 3 weeks, and he isn't even being subtle about rapidly moving the country towards socialism. Guess what he did today - he signed an S-CHIP bill which gives government health insurance to 4 million additional children (besides those which are already covered). I know what you're thinking, "Sarah, how can you be so heartless as to want him to deny insurance to poor sick little kids?" Of course I don't have a problem with giving poor children health care and vaccinations.

The reasons I hate this are:
  • This bill covers children whose parents make up to $88,000 a year!!!! If you are making $88K and can't pay for some insurance for your kids, maybe it's time to reevaluate your budget. Come on. Why should others have to cover your responsibilities?
  • Applicants aren't required to present proof of their identity, other than an oral recitation of their SS number. Sounds like a situation begging for fraud.
  • The tab will supposedly be paid for by an extra tax on tobacco products, but the # of tobacco users has dropped dramatically in the last few years, and is expected to drop further once the extra tax is added. Which means we will either need an extra 22.4 million new smokers in 10 years, or else pay an extra tax for this. Click here to read more.

In addition, when Obama signed the bill, he was actually fairly honest - he said "it's only the first step" in his march towards insurance coverage for every American. Socialized medicine, here we come!!!!

Party Like It's 1999!

Obama is apparently very worried about his mind-boggling spending/welfare/entitlements bill being shot down. He's not used to people not bowing down and obeying his commands! So guess what he wants his supporters to do - you will never guess - "restore confidence in our economy by helping your friends, family, and neighbors understand how the recovery plan will impact your community". Governor Tim Kaine is going to put together a video about how the plan works, and Obama supporters are supposed to "invite friends, family, and neighbors to watch the video with you at an Economic Recovery Party". This was written in an email he sent out to supporters. You can read more here.

Wow, that sounds like quite the fun party. Let's get excited about Obama blowing $1 trillion on nothing, let me get out my party hat. I hope and I pray that I am invited to an Economic Recovery Party. Oh the fun I would have. I would bring huge posterboards with the things written on it contained in the bill like "$400 million for HIV testing and $25 million for improving ATV trails" and I would ask the people there how this helps the economy and watch while their heads exploded from trying to put a coherent thought together. But it's doubtful I will be invited since I try not to spend time around liberals. And maybe Obama should realize that his brain dead supporters might have stumbled off their couches in their parents' basements long enough to vote for him but aren't going to stick around to actually see what he does. Those voters who do have a clue aren't supporting this.

Obama's Second Tax Cheater Appointment

Obama appointed another tax cheat in a key position in his administration. This time it's Tom Daschle who was appointed to be secretary of Health & Human Services.

Did you know that in 1998, Daschle stated on the congressional record "Make no mistake, tax cheaters cheat us all, and the IRS should enforce our laws to the letter."

After Obama mentioned to Daschle that he might consider him for a high level job, suddenly Daschle had to file some amended tax returns. Oops, he suddenly remembered that he had forgotten to include the $255,000 dollar value of the limousine service that his employer provided to him for three years in his income. He also suddenly remembered that he had received $83,000 in consulting fees in 2007 that he didn't report. (I just hate it when that extra $83,000 slips my mind when I'm filing taxes, don't you?). He paid an extra $140,000 in back taxes to rectify his "mistake" that he suddenly remembered when Barack came calling. So I guess he's in the clear now.

Obama's Culture of Death

Today's Obama-nation is more of Obama's lovely attitudes towards life and "family planning". But first, watch this video that NBC refused to air during the Superbowl b/c it was too political. Oh yes, we would hate to think that NBC has any political leanings.

Today's Obama-nation: When Obama repealed the "Mexico City Policy", which denied federal money to international abortion groups, he also commented that he "would work to restore funding for the United Nations Population Fund". Bush denied funding to the group because of the group's ties to China's one-child policy and China's forced abortions. Lovely. So now not only will my tax money be sent to Mexico so some woman can get an abortion, probably soon it will go to China where some poor pregnant woman will be forced to have an abortion. With my money! Meanwhile, we are going to borrow $1 trillion from China to spend on Amtrak and AIDS testing to stimulate the economy?

In addition, Obama has picked quite a roster of pro-choicers for his top ranking officials. You are not allowed to serve on Obama's staff unless you are ardently pro-death. Some of his picks:
  • Dawn Johnson, former legal director of NARAL, is Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legal Counsel.
  • Ellen Moran, former director of the pro-abortion group Emily's List, is White House communications director
  • Thomas Perrelli, who represented Michael Schiavo in his efforts to kill his wife, will be the third highest attorney in the justice dept.
  • James Steinberg, the nominee for Deputy Secretary of State, announced recently that taxpayers should be forced to fund abortions
  • David Ogden, his choice for Deputy Attorney General, authored a Supreme Court brief in the abortion case Planned Parenthood v. Casey, in which he stated "Abortion rarely causes or exacerbates psychological or emotional problems. When women do experience regret, depression, or guilt, such feelings are mild and diminish rapidly without adversely affecting general functioning. The few women who do experience negative psychological responses after abortion appear to be those with preexisting emotional problems. In sum, it is grossly misleading to tell a woman that abortion imposes possible detrimental psychological effects when the risks are negligible in most cases. . . . The evidence shows that she is more likely to experience feelings of relief and happiness, and when child-birth and child-rearing or adoption may pose concomitant (if not greater) risks or adverse psychological effects."

He's Obam-inable!!!
