Today's Obama-nation: When Obama repealed the "Mexico City Policy", which denied federal money to international abortion groups, he also commented that he "would work to restore funding for the United Nations Population Fund". Bush denied funding to the group because of the group's ties to China's one-child policy and China's forced abortions. Lovely. So now not only will my tax money be sent to Mexico so some woman can get an abortion, probably soon it will go to China where some poor pregnant woman will be forced to have an abortion. With my money! Meanwhile, we are going to borrow $1 trillion from China to spend on Amtrak and AIDS testing to stimulate the economy?
In addition, Obama has picked quite a roster of pro-choicers for his top ranking officials. You are not allowed to serve on Obama's staff unless you are ardently pro-death. Some of his picks:
- Dawn Johnson, former legal director of NARAL, is Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legal Counsel.
- Ellen Moran, former director of the pro-abortion group Emily's List, is White House communications director
- Thomas Perrelli, who represented Michael Schiavo in his efforts to kill his wife, will be the third highest attorney in the justice dept.
- James Steinberg, the nominee for Deputy Secretary of State, announced recently that taxpayers should be forced to fund abortions
- David Ogden, his choice for Deputy Attorney General, authored a Supreme Court brief in the abortion case Planned Parenthood v. Casey, in which he stated "Abortion rarely causes or exacerbates psychological or emotional problems. When women do experience regret, depression, or guilt, such feelings are mild and diminish rapidly without adversely affecting general functioning. The few women who do experience negative psychological responses after abortion appear to be those with preexisting emotional problems. In sum, it is grossly misleading to tell a woman that abortion imposes possible detrimental psychological effects when the risks are negligible in most cases. . . . The evidence shows that she is more likely to experience feelings of relief and happiness, and when child-birth and child-rearing or adoption may pose concomitant (if not greater) risks or adverse psychological effects."
He's Obam-inable!!!
