Some good news first - the Tea Party express is about to make its second tour through the country! I'll be there on November 9 and let me tell you, I am FIRED UP. See the detailed map for a location near you.
The bad news - Obama is going to spread more wealth around - $13 billion to be exact. He wants Congress to provide a one-time payment of $250 to help senior citizens weather the recession. The alleged reason is that this year is the first time in decades that seniors on social security haven't gotten a cost of living adjustment. The reason for this is that consumer prices have remained stagnant this year.
Questions for Obama: If the cost of living has stayed the same, why do they need extra money? Is this money being borrowed from China? Is the real reason you are doing this is because seniors are ticked that you are planning to make cuts from their Medicare to "give" everyone health insurance? Are you worried they will vote you and your cronies out since they are the one group that always shows up to vote? Is this going to be a regular ongoing payment? Why don't you just go ahead and resign now? Pretty please?

Typical Government Programs
Two for today, both from my favorite blog, michellemalkin.com:
- The first shows how government entitlements are rarely temporary and never cost less than we are told up front - Remember that $8,000 home credit for new buyers passed last November? 40 percent of all home buyers this year will qualify for it (sure wish I could take $8,000 off my mortgage!). It's going to cost the taxpayers $15 billion, more than twice the amount projected when it was passed. Skeptics say most of those people would have bought a home anyway, and unless it's allowed to expire in November as planned, it will become one more entitlement that fails to die. Click here to read more.
- Under Obama's heatlth care plan, 45% of doctors would consider quitting, according to a new poll. 72% of doctors disagree with Obama's claim that the government can cover 47 million more people with better-quality care at lower cost. Click here to read more.

Obama-care
There's a lot I could say about Obama's health care plan, but Fox News is hammering it right and left so I won't bother. It's completely ridiculous for him to push to overhaul the entire US medical system by August. The good thing is I think Americans are finally waking up.
One radio talk show host I listen to pointed out this morning that there is no huge outcry from the American people that we must all have guaranteed access to coverage. In fact, polls show that the majority of Americans are happy with their care.
This is a funny article. Obama has praised the Mayo Clinic repeatedly in the past for its excellent care and low costs. Do you think the Mayo clinic has reciprocated? NO!! The Mayo clinic issued a statement totally bashing Obama-care. It says Obama-care will create higher cost, lower quality healthcare. It goes on to say the proposals are not patient focused or results oriented, and the losers will be American citizens.

I Hate the Cap and Trade Bill, Part 2
North Korea launched four more missiles on July 4 as promised, bringing the total to seven. Grow a pair Obama.
I've been doing some more reading about the cap and tax bill. Some goodies (and click here to read more):
1. 85% of the carbon permits allowed will be given to utility companies, oil refineries, and other politically connected businesses.
2. Wall Street investment bankers who donated substantial sums of $$ will get to sell carbon permits. Hmmm.
3. Any government revenue created under this plan (i.e., money stolen from taxpayers) will go to projects such as "reducing deforestation in developing countries experiencing deforestation, including preparing developing countries to participate in international markets for international offset credits for reduced emissions from deforestation." So OUR money will be given to some guy in China so he will plant some trees? I don't think so!!!
4. Any evil carbons you emit can be excused if you do some offsetting. So do what you want as far as polluting, then do some offsetting. How do you do the offsetting you ask? By "improved manure management,” “reduced tillage/no-tillage,” or “afforestation of marginal farmlands.”
5. Projects receiving money under this bill will be required to use union-wage rules for its employees, making it hard for non-union employers to compete.
6. Utilities will be required to get 20% of their power from renewable energy sources (sun, wind, etc.) by 2020. These are very expensive sources of energy and don't work well in all parts of the country. Who will be paying for that? Me, everytime I flip a switch.
7. There will be $1 billion annually directed to the new Carbon Storage Research Corporation. Who will pay for that? Again, me.
8. Every single type of light fixture you can imagine is regulated under this bill. Get out of my living room Obama and let me use whatever type of lightbulb I damn well please!!!
9. The bill also covers appliances, including washers, dryers, TVs, showerheads, faucets and more. Now Obama's in my bathroom!
10. The EPA will be authorized to establish environmental standards for homes. Yes, you could be "greening" your home soon courtesy of the federal government. This applies to commercial buildings as well.
11. The EPA is also authorized to regulate greenhouse gas emissions from vehicles too. In addition to that $18 I spend to check my emissions every year to meet Georgia's requirements, will I soon be paying to meet federal requirements as well?
12. States aren't allowed to create their own greenhouse gas programs under this bill.
13. Utility companies are ordered in the bill to start preparing for deployment of electrical charging stations along roadways, in parking garages, and at gas stations, as well as “such other elements as the State determines necessary to support plug-in electric drive vehicles.” In addition, the secretary of energy is required to establish a large-scale vehicle electrification program and to provide “such sums as may be necessary” for the manufacture of plug-in electric-drive vehicles, including another $25 billion for “advanced technology vehicle” loans.
14. The secretary of energy is allowed to order that each car manufacturer's fleet be comprised of a minimum percentage of vehicles that run on biodiesel or ethanol.
15. College administrators will be given billions for "Clean Energy Innovation Centers". HA!
16. The Bill "authorizes the Secretary [of Energy] to make grants to community development organizations to provide financing to businesses and projects that improve energy efficiency.” Hmmmm, what is a community development organization that Obama's connected with? Could it be ACORN????
17. Don't forget the welfare checks that will be distributed each month under the bill.
These are 17 of the 50 most absurd provisions contained in the cap and trade bill that are listed in the article I referenced above. What other gems are hidden in there?

Cap and Tax Lies and the Liars Who Tell Them
As you've probably already heard, yesterday the House passed the "cap and trade" bill, also known as the "cap and tax" bill. This bill was 1,200 pages long, probably was read by virtually none of the congressmen who passed it, and is a complete piece of #$%^. It seeks to reduce carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions by EIGHTY THREE percent by the middle of the century. It affects none of the real polluters out there (are you listening China and India) but is expected to add around $1,600 (by some estimations) to each US family's expenses annually in the form of higher energy costs and higher costs for everything that's manufactured b/c of the ridiculous burden this bill places on manufacturers.
One the most ridiculous parts of the bill is the fact that that slobbering idiot Barney Frank put a "placeholder" in the bill that apparently will deal with regulations of financial derivatives market associated with reducing carbon emissions. Frank says he is confident a “good system will be in place.” Meaning we are supposed to believe they will come up with something intelligent and insert it where the "placeholder" is. Wait a second, wasn't he the guy who forced banks to make bad loans, leading to the "housing crisis", leading to our current economic state?
In addition, this bill is going to increase costs on our domestic oil by requiring domestic oil producers to pay for carbon dioxide released from their plants. Foreign oil won't have those carbon costs. Wait a second, didn't Obama want to decrease our reliance on foreign oil? Do you think this will help us compete?
Eight horrible Republicans voted for this thing. One proud moment for me was when my congressman, Tom Price, whom I correspond with regularly, stood up and said he wanted a moment of silence for all of those whose jobs will be killed under this bill. He was denied, of course.
Now, Obama is urging the Senate to pass it, saying it will cost each American only the cost of a "postage stamp" per day, and will help us to invest in clean energy. First of all, if I were to believe the lying Obama, I would still have to cough up an extra $1.64 for my family each and every day. I don't want to give DC another stinking PENNY. Second, that completely disregards the fact that this bill is going to force manufacturing jobs overseas. There is no way around that. Since my husband is an engineer for manufacturing plants, this could be bad news. Obama's response? "In California alone, 3,000 people will be employed to build a new solar plant that will create 1,000 permanent jobs." YEAH, RIGHT, just like all those stimulus jobs were going to save us. Just like the unemployment rate was going to drop, not skyrocket. I don't believe one single thing that comes out of that lying liar's mouth.
I heard some more shocking things about this bill (for example, we will be paying Brazil not to cut down trees) but I haven't had time to compile a list. It will come later.
CALL YOUR SENATORS AND TELL THEM IF THEY SIGN THIS, THEY ARE FIRED.

Obama Says No More "Climate Altering Gases" Allowed!
Looks like Obama is up to some more of his old tricks again, in the form of wealth redistribution from the rich to the poor. Although this plan is currently in Congress and hasn't been signed by the chosen one, it has the stink of Obama all over it.
Check out this - there is a plan underway to auction off permits to companies that produce "climate altering gases". The money from those permits will be given to low income consumers to help pay for higher energy bills, among other things.
There are SO many things wrong with this, where do I start: first of all, there is no consensus in the scientific community that man made global warming (or "climate change") is even occurring. So why are we spending $$ we don't have to combat something scientists can't even agree is occurring? Second, who is even going to be paying for these permits? Companies, who are going to pass those costs onto everyone. What about the higher energy bills of middle income and high income Americans - we're going to be tagged with an extra $100 to $1,600 a year because of this, and you can bet those estimates are on the low end. How many jobs are going to be lost because companies can't or don't want to deal with these regulations? How much is this massive regulation going to cost us in the form of salaries and perks for the bureaucrats who are going to enforce it? I could go on and on, but you get the point.

Dude, Where's My Mortgage Modification?
OBAMA = One Big Ass Mistake America.
Obama unveiled his new plan to save the housing industry. It's called the "Homeowner Affordability and Stability Plan". (I would call it the "Reward Those Who Make Poor Choices and Punish Those Who Do Pay Their Mortgages Every Month Plan). It will cost us $75 Billion (which I'm sure is lowballing it).
Did you know that under the plan, homeowners who aren't making their payments will get a special, modified loan? To reward them for making their payments on time under their new mortgage, now they'll get $1,000 taken directly off the principal of their loan every year for 5 years!!! Now wait a second, we've been in our home almost 6 years and we've never missed a payment, where's my $5,000 off the principal??? Oh, that's right, we did what we were supposed to do, so we don't qualify.
Did you know the program will allow bankruptcy judges to just come in and modify mortgages?
Did you know that banks who agree to new mortgage deals with favorable terms for these homeowners who aren't paying will get cash as an incentive?
Where is the money for this coming from? It's going to take billions to pay these banks and these deadbeat homeowners. The cash comes from us, people who do pay their mortgages. So we are financing other people's mistakes.
Obama has obviously not heard that you don't reward failure and punish success. You can read more about this Obaminable plan here.

What's Your Hurry, Obama?
Remember how utterly urgent it was to get that spendulus bill passed? The bill was released on Friday night and just HAD to be signed less than 24 hours later, even though it was 1,071 pages. Meaning none of the Senators or Representatives voting on it really had a chance to read it.
Well guess what, Obama is taking a long romantic Valentine's Day weekend off work, so the bill won't be signed into law until Tuesday anyway. Call me crazy, but what was wrong with waiting until Tuesday for the House and Senate to vote on it, then allowing Obama to sign it into law the same day? Is it because it contains so much crap that they were scared to let the American people read it?

Your Plan Disgusts Me, Obama
I am completely disgusted with Obama and his spendulus plan. The bill was released last night at 11 pm, is somewhere around 700 pages, and MUST be voted on today, before anyone's even read it. The biggest single spending plan in our nation's history, and no one's allowed to read it!
Did you know that the bill released is in non-searchable form, meaning that if you want to find something in it, you have to read the entire thing, you can't just search for certain words? I am too disgusted to put a coherent Obama-nation together for today. How about I just throw together some of quotes of the big spending liberal?
Speaking in Ohio on March 1, 2008, Obama said, "America is at its best when it's not fearful. I mean, if you think of our history, our most shameful times have been when we were afraid."
Speaking last week, he said that if we don't pass this spendulus bill, "This recession might linger for years. Our economy will lose 5 million more jobs. Unemployment will approach double digits. Our nation will sink deeper into a crisis that, at some point, we may not be able to reverse."
That sounds pretty fearful to me Obam-inable one!
On Obama's first full day in office, he said "The way to make government responsible is to hold it accountable. And the way to make government accountable is make it transparent so that the American people can know exactly what decisions are being made, how they're being made, and whether their interests are being well-served."
How is strong arming legislators into signing something they haven't read and the American people haven't read transparency?

Obama's Compensation Limits
Obama is coming unglued! He is not happy that even with a Democrat controlled House and Senate, he is having trouble getting this spend-ulus bill passed. What happened, he was so popular on the campaign trail! Why can't he just order us around now? Click here to read what he said last night.
The Obama-nation of the day: This week Obama signed a bill limiting the compensation of executives of companies who were receiving bailout money to $500,000. Sounds reasonable, right? It's unfair for those executives who have run their companies in the ground to get millions in compensation courtesy of the taxpayers, while the companies are laying off thousands.
No, it doesn't sound like a good idea to me for several reasons.

No, it doesn't sound like a good idea to me for several reasons.
- First, this is only Obama's first step in setting salaries for all kinds of companies in all kinds of industries. Just like his first step in instituting socialized medicine is giving insurance to children (b/c who can deny the children?), his first step in "spreading the wealth around" is limiting the compensation of executives getting bailout money, because who can object to that? It's a very slippery slope. It may sound silly now, but in 20 or 30 years, will there be a government pay chart telling us exactly what nurses or business people or cable guys can make? This is the first baby step to that. Next he will tell us what ANY company who gets any type of federal money (not bailout) can pay their employees, and then it will take off from there. That's not what America is about.
- Second, to turn these companies around takes incredible business talent not possessed by just anyone. If someone with that type of talent and experience is only going to make $500,000 at one company, but millions overseas or at a company not receiving bailout $$, why work for the failing company?
- Third, some of these executives ARE doing their jobs well. In huge corporations, maybe one honcho is leading his division to record profits, even though the company is overall losing money. Why should that honcho be punished?

Barry the Red

You think Barack's comment that "we want to spread the wealth around" was just a slight slip of the tongue and that he's not actually a socialist (or communist)?
Think again! Check out this 2001 radio interview with Barack in Chicago. Click here to listen. A caller asks Barack to explain how he would do “reparative economic work.” Obama gives the legislative route two thumbs up as his preferred method of “breaking free of the constraints” placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution and then burbles about cobbling together the “actual coalition of powers through which you bring about redistributive change.”
Some more of his lovely comments:
"If you look at the victories and failures of the civil rights movement and its litigation strategy in the court. I think where it succeeded was to invest formal rights in previously dispossessed people, so that now I would have the right to vote. I would now be able to sit at the lunch counter and order as long as I could pay for it I’d be o.k. But, the Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth, and of more basic issues such as political and economic justice in society. To that extent, as radical as I think people try to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn’t that radical. It didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution, at least as its been interpreted and Warren Court interpreted in the same way, that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. Says what the states can’t do to you. Says what the Federal government can’t do to you, but doesn’t say what the Federal government or State government must do on your behalf, and that hasn’t shifted and one of the, I think, tragedies of the civil rights movement was, um, because the civil rights movement became so court focused I think there was a tendancy to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalition of powers through which you bring about redistributive change. In some ways we still suffer from that."

Obama's Tax Plan
This is old news, but I'm sorting through my archived emails:
Obama claims he wants to cut income taxes on 95% of Americans. Which I don't believe, but say I did. Did you know that between 30 and 40 percent of Americans don't even pay income taxes? Typically this is because their income is too low to meet the minimum threshold to pay taxes.
Now how do you think you cut taxes on people who pay no taxes? Either (1) you don't, and he is lying, or (2) he gives tax refunds to people who pay no taxes.I actually don't think he is lying, I think he wants to give tax refunds to people who pay no taxes. That's right, you file your tax return, showing that you paid no taxes either because you are lazy, unskilled, or maybe you've fallen on hard times. Then you get a check for $2,000 in the mail from the people who go to work all day. That's called income redistribution and it should be Obama's middle name - actually, it might be a better name than Hussein.

Barack = Socialist
This one is just plain hilarious.
Obama gets his panties in a wad anytime anyone refers to him as a socialist. Internet gurus just found out that he was a member of the "New Party" in 1996, which was established by the Democratic Socialists of America. People in his campaign have denied he was ever a member of said party. The DSA and New Party then tried to cover up any record of his membership in said party. However, the Internet Archive Organization, a non-profit which saves information transmitted on the internet, archived a page which mentioned his membership in said party. On a New Party update, Barack is mentioned as having won an Illinois state senate seat. Read it here if you don't believe me.
HILARIOUS!
Toodles,
Sarah

Spread the Wealth Around - But Not to his Family
Did you know Obama has several half-siblings in Africa? I only know the details of one. His name is George Hussein Obama. He lives in abject poverty in a hut and makes $12 a year. Obama is aware of his half-siblings and has met George twice. Do you think Barack opens his $4 million a year wallet to help him or his other sibling out? NO. So let me get this straight, Obama wants to take MORE money from my family to help the "less fortunate" but he can't toss his half -siblings a $20 bill once a year?
Also, a British newspaper recently turned up an aunt of his who lives in a Boston slum! She's an illegal alien and saved up $260 to send to his campaign, which is illegal (illegal aliens can't contribute to presidential campaigns). So he returned her $$ but didn't send her another penny. OBAMANATION! Click here and here to read more.
