More Bribes, This Time Less Obvious

Obama is frantically scrambling for votes in the House to shove the Senate's version of the healthcare bill down the throats of the American people. What better way to buy a vote than to offer a federal judgeship to the brother of one of the House Democrats who voted against the bill in November?

That's right, Jim Matheson from Utah voted against the House health care bill in November. Not so coincidentally, the White House sent out a press release announcing that Obama nominated Scott M. Matheson, Jr. to be a judge on the U.S. Ct. of Appeals, 10th Circuit.

I guess this is a better bribery tactic than giving sweet deals to residents of entire states.

More Sweet Deals for Labor Unions

This one will make you mad. Have you heard that in order to pay for Obama-care, people who receive a "Cadillac" health insurance policy from their employers are going to be taxed on it? Under the Senate Finance plan, health insurance plans that cost more than $8,000 a year for individuals ($21,000 for families) will pay a FORTY percent tax on the amount above that threshold. I think the insurance company picks up the rest of the tab. Not that it matters who pays it, the ultimate cost will be paid by the insured.

Anyone who has shopped around for insurance knows that it is very easy for a healthy person's insurance plan to cost more than $8,000 a year. And guess which group has a large number of its members with Cadillac plans? I'll give you a hint - they are a huge supporter of Democrats. That's right, labor unions. Labor unions are mad about this new tax.

So guess what they are doing - negotiating with Democrats on an exception to that tax for unions. Reportedly, the unions will drop their objections to the tax if Democrats will carve out an exception to the tax for those plans negotiated under a collective bargaining agreement. I Declare You Unconstitutional, Obama!

I'm rather slow in finding out about this, but did you know that portions of the health care bill passed by the Senate specifically say they cannot be repealed except by a three-fifths vote of the Senate? Are you kidding me? You pass a bill that forces me to buy health insurance, and then you tell me it can only be repealed by a supermajority? I don't think so!!!! That's not constitutional. Of course, who is going to say it's not? A supreme court stacked with Obama nominees?

You're Not Forcing Me to Buy Insurance!

I just started reading Michelle Malkin's book entitled Culture of Corruption and it is horrifying. Page by page it lays out the broken promises, lies and corruption in Obama's administration - which isn't even a year old. For example, he broke his promise that his administration would be transparent and would give the American people five days to review a bill before he signed it into law - with the very first bill he signed. Since then, no bill has been online 5 days before being signed. Most haven't been online at all and some were posted after they were signed.

Speaking of dirty tricks, what do you think of that trick the Senate pulled? Voting Christmas eve morning, when most Americans are occupied, on a 2,000 page healthcare bill no one has read, using OUR money to bribe a Nebraska senator into voting for it, mandating that individual citizens buy products in the private market or face fines - is this the America we know and love? Not everyone needs health insurance. I can think of several groups of people who would be better off saving their money - but under this bill, either you buy it or you pay $750 a year to the feds. I don't think so. I've already decided what I will do if I ever ever receive a notice like that, but I am too much of a lady to write it here.

And another thing, is it a coincidence that after Obama took office the Muslims start coming out of the woodwork? Bush kept us safe after 9/11, but now we have a crazy Muslim doctor killing 13 people at Ft. Hood and a crazy Nigerian Muslim getting onboard a flight with a homemade explosive device. Maybe it's too early to blame Obama, but the US had plenty of warning about both of those guys but did nothing. Only time will tell if this trend will continue, but these incidents dishearten me, as does Obama's attitude towards the War on Terror- oops, I meant the Overseas Contingency Operation.

David Hamilton? Is that the Best You Could Find, Obama?

Another week, another sneaky Saturday night vote by our representatives on a plan to destroy the American healthcare system. Another 2,000 page bill no one who is voting on it has read. Another provision to give Americans who refuse to buy health insurance jail time. Another provision that says that if you are a member of the government run plan, a portion of your premiums go to fund abortions. Sigh.

In other news, an Obama nominee to the 7th circuit court of appeals got confirmed - David Hamilton. I never heard of this guy until today unfortunately. Even more unfortunately for him, a GA senator (as well as a TN senator) voted to allow the vote on this guy to take place. He will be hearing from me after this email is typed.

About David Hamilton:

- he used to be a fund raiser for ACORN (need I say more?)
- he is radically pro-abortion. In Indiana, he kept an informed consent measure from being enforced, which prevented women from finding out about alternatives to and risks of abortion.
- he prevented the Indiana Speaker of the House of Representatives from permitting "sectarian" prayers to be offered during the official House proceedings. What's a sectarian prayer? I'm glad you asked. According to Hamilton, a "sectarian" prayer is one that uses the name of Christ. However, it is not a "sectarian" prayer if the name of Allah is used. This guy won't allow you to say Jesus in a prayer but will allow you to say Allah.

Paying for Abortions

Wow - just saw this on Drudge report. Did you know that Speaker Pelosi's (aka Obama's) health care bill that will be voted on this weekend contains a provision that very explicitly says that each participant in the government option will have a minimum of $1 of his monthly premium set aside for abortions? So if my family is somehow forced off our private insurance and onto this plan, we will be paying $48 a year at a minimum for someone to do something that we consider murder?

In addition, the Health and Human Services Secretary is the one who will decide when abortion is allowed under the plan.

More $$ for Trial Lawyers!!

I'm sure you've heard that the House is set to vote on a 1,900 page health care bill this week.

It's going to destroy health care in America and will cost us $2.24 million for every word that's written in that 1,900 page bill. I've heard so many negative things about this bill - like states can opt out of participating in the bill, but not paying for it; that the bill requires 42 studies on a variety of medical issues be performed; that the word "tax" is used 214 times and the word "shall" is used 3,425 times - but here's a rather interesting tidbit I heard today.

In Section 2531, the bill establishes an incentive program for states to adopt alternatives to medical liability litigation. That's great, right? Medical malpractice suits are part of the reason health care costs so much. But wait - a state is not eligible for those payments if they limit trial attorneys' fees or impose a cap on damages.

Now wait a second, why would this bill disallow states to limit trial attorneys' fees in medical malpractice cases? That would help bring the cost of health care down, right? This is supposed to be a bill to help fix our health care system, right? Could it be because 95% of trial attorneys' political contributions go to Democrats?

Round-Up of Health Care Obama-nations

Did anyone catch Obama on FIVE morning shows trying to sell his health care agenda? Nobody's buying what he's selling!

Here's a fun round-up of recent articles about his Obam-inable actions:

- first he argued with George Stephanopoulus when Steph. asked him about whether requiring people to get health insurance or be fined was a tax increase. Steph pointed out the definition of tax in the dictionary; Obama mocked him for that. Obama pointed out that everyone was required to get auto insurance and that wasn't a tax increase. (Stupid argument, only drivers are required to get insurance and only to protect others, under Obama's plan everyone will have to get insurance simply for existing). Click here.

- When confronted with ACORN's recent scandals and then the senate's vote to deny giving ACORN federal money, Obama played the idiot. He wasn't even aware ACORN was getting a lot of federal money! And he definitely did not commit to signing any bill cutting off federal ACORN money. Click here.

- Then comes the news that Obama is "open" to a a bill that would bailout newspapers. I'm sure that's completely unrelated to the story that the New York Times has given him TWO miles of coverage on the front page of its paper this year alone, virtually all of it favorable.

- Finally, this article amusingly points out that Obama wants his daughters left alone by the media when HE says so, but then uses a story of daughter Sasha's diagnosis of meningitis when she was a baby to sell his health care plan. Do you want them in the spotlight or not? And by the way, Obama and Michelle can't even agree on whether she had meningitis or not!

I Guess Obama WAS Lying About Illegal Aliens and Healthcare

Remember when Obama said his health care plan "would not cover those who are here illegally"? Kind of an odd way to say it instead of just saying "illegal aliens" but then again, he's the king of grandiose speeches. I think that's the only reason he got elected. Remember when Joe Wilson screamed "You lie!" about that?

Mr. Obama's current plan is to legalize the current illegal aliens to get them healthcare.

According to the Washington Times:
President Obama said this week that his health care plan won’t cover illegal immigrants, but argued that’s all the more reason to legalize them and ensure they eventually do get coverage.
He also staked out a position that anyone in the country legally should be covered - a major break with the 1996 welfare reform bill, which limited most federal public assistance programs only to citizens and longtime immigrants.

So he wants to have it both ways. Does this also mean he's lying when he says there will be a ban on abortion in this health care bill?

Typical Government Programs

Two for today, both from my favorite blog, michellemalkin.com:

- The first shows how government entitlements are rarely temporary and never cost less than we are told up front - Remember that $8,000 home credit for new buyers passed last November? 40 percent of all home buyers this year will qualify for it (sure wish I could take $8,000 off my mortgage!). It's going to cost the taxpayers $15 billion, more than twice the amount projected when it was passed. Skeptics say most of those people would have bought a home anyway, and unless it's allowed to expire in November as planned, it will become one more entitlement that fails to die. Click here to read more.

- Under Obama's heatlth care plan, 45% of doctors would consider quitting, according to a new poll. 72% of doctors disagree with Obama's claim that the government can cover 47 million more people with better-quality care at lower cost. Click here to read more.

Who's Been Planting Now Obama?

On my way home from an errand today I heard an analyst who had read it three times telling about the hidden goodies in the House's health care bill. Stuff I hadn't heard. Stuff that made my blood boil. I will try to put together a list by tomorrow.

If you listen to one-tenth as much conservative talk radio as I do you will have already heard about this but just in case you haven't: There was an adorable 11 year old girl at Obama's town hall meeting who read a question off of a card about those mean signs that she saw people outside the town hall meeting holding. If you missed it you can watch it here. Turns out that little girl's mother is a huge supporter of Obama's who has previously met the Obama ladies and whose law firm has given him thousands of dollars. Click here to read more.

I find it extremely amusing that Obama and his administration have called legitimate health care protestors "plants" from the right wing, accused them of carrying swastikas and said they are not ordinary concerned citizens while THEY are caught red handed using children to read planted questions at a completely phony health care town hall meeting. Keep it up, Obama! Can't wait until 2012.

Obama's Phony Town Hall Meeting

Did anyone watch Obama's "town hall meeting" today? Not at all choreographed in the slightest. The crowd was shouting "yes we can" when he finished and cheered when he said that the stimulus is working. (That's funny, I thought unemployment has continued to rise). He could barely start spewing his lies in the first place b/c the applause was so loud when he showed up.

How stupid do you think we are Obama? Do you think we haven't seen the non-choreographed town halls popping up across the country with angry citizens demanding to know what will happen to their elderly and disabled loved ones under his plan? (I considered going to a town hall meeting for a democrat rep in Atlanta last night to watch the carnage but I had something else to do. I'm glad I didn't go b/c I heard someone who went say that when someone had the nerve to ask the rep if this plan was constitutional he was escorted out! How's that for free speech?)

During the town hall Obama said he did not support a single payer healthcare system. That's a LIE!!

Another lie: if Americans are happy with their current insurance plan, they can keep it under his plan. I don't know what plan he's referring to b/c in the house's health care bill which you can read by clicking here, if you will scroll to around pages 15-17, it doesn't read to me like I can keep my current health insurance. At least not if I ever change employers.

Another interesting tidbit - Rahm Emanuel, Obama's chief of staff, has a brother who is a leading proponent of state assisted suicide. Lovely. Click here to read about that.

Obama's Making Lists and Taking Names

Did you know that the White House's blog on Wednesday asked for supporters to email anything on the web about health insurance reform that "seems fishy"? It should be emailed to flag@whitehouse.gov. How about emailing every single thing Obama says about health care to flag@whitehouse.gov? Everything I've heard out of his mouth about it's been an absolute lie! (The White House web posting isn't there anymore. I checked the White House blog even though being there made me sick).

The blog read: "There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there. Since we can't keep track of all of them here at the White House, we're asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov."

And no, of course the White House isn't keeping an enemies list. Of course they don't retaliate against their opponents - HA! "We want to be sure people have the facts about health insurance reform that will lower costs, protect consumers from insurance regulations that deny them coverage and assure quality and affordable health care for all Americans," said Adam Abrams, a White House spokesman. He said no lists or sources of the information would be compiled.

I'm Not Paying for Someone Else's Abortion!

I knew there was a reason (besides crappy health care and more taxes) that I opposed government health care - according to this article, abortions will be covered under the government's plan!!

Raising My Taxes to Pay for Obama-care

So let me get this straight:

According to this article, in exchange for the privilege of being forced out of my excellent private health insurance which I love and being forced onto a government health care plan, my taxes are going to go up? And this is all because Washington DC thinks it's not fair that some people don't have health insurance? Even though many of those without health insurance don't have it because they choose not to have it, not because they can't afford it? Even though there is no big outcry from the American people to provide us with free medical treatment and in fact polls show the majority of Americans don't want it?

You're Not the Boss of Me Obama! You Weren't Even Born Here!

Is anyone planning on watching Obama's press conference tonight where he'll try to sell Obama-care? I'll probably skip it and watch Hannity's coverage afterwards. Or I might watch it and belly laugh over how many outright lies he tells.

Here's a more fun topic: Obama's birthplace.

Joke: What do God and Obama have in common?
Answer: Neither of them has a birth certificate (courtesy of Rush Limbaugh).

When I first heard that Obama was rumored to have been born in Africa, I thought it was a rumor planted by people who are even more right wing than I am. After all, doesn't a person have to prove he's over 35 and was born in the US to be considered for president? Doesn't that darn little document called the Constitution require it?

After six months of Obama, being in office, I have realized that he doesn't let the Constitution stand in the way of anything he wants to do. Is it Constitutional for him to appoint czars left and right without Senate confirmation and give them broad sweeping powers? Is it constitutional for him to take over the auto companies? Is it constitutional for him to tell private companies what they can pay their employees? Is it constitutional for him to rewrite bankruptcy laws? Who cares if no one calls him on it or makes him stop? Do you think he would let the fact he was born in Africa stand in his way if he wanted to be president?

So I'm giving this place of birth thing some more thought. Here's an excellent article outlining some facts about his online "birth certificate" that was posted. Some things to chew on:

1. Obama's Kenyan grandmother claims he was born in Kenya.

2. He has spent lots of $$ fighting lawsuits asking for proof that he's a natural born citizen.

3. The "Certification of Live Birth" that his campaign issued is very different from an actual birth certificate that would have been issued in Hawaii in 1963. In the article I mentioned, you can watch how Dr. Ron Polarik, who has a PhD in instructional media, and specializes in computer technology such as printers, scanners, etc., has examined the online birth certificate and believes it's a forgery.

4. People who are not natural born citizens can get a "certification of live birth" without having been born in the U.S. The long form birth certificate is what proves the actual live birth in Hawaii.

5. He won't release any information on which hospital he was born in and which doctor delivered him.

If we get Obama-care and if I still have two nickels to rub together after he's robbed me blind, I will file a federal lawsuit claiming he doesn't have the power to force me to accept government health care b/c he's not even eligible to be president. I will be happy to name any of my Obama-nation subscribers as co-plaintiffs if you wish.

Obama-care

There's a lot I could say about Obama's health care plan, but Fox News is hammering it right and left so I won't bother. It's completely ridiculous for him to push to overhaul the entire US medical system by August. The good thing is I think Americans are finally waking up.

One radio talk show host I listen to pointed out this morning that there is no huge outcry from the American people that we must all have guaranteed access to coverage. In fact, polls show that the majority of Americans are happy with their care.

This is a funny article. Obama has praised the Mayo Clinic repeatedly in the past for its excellent care and low costs. Do you think the Mayo clinic has reciprocated? NO!! The Mayo clinic issued a statement totally bashing Obama-care. It says Obama-care will create higher cost, lower quality healthcare. It goes on to say the proposals are not patient focused or results oriented, and the losers will be American citizens.

Obama-care? NO THANKS!

Obama wouldn't recognize the truth if it bit him in the butt. His latest rounds of lies today were spewed at an American Medical Association meeting, where he was trying to convince doctors that his healthcare plan isn't actually socialized medicine and the country will come to an end if we don't adopt it. The good news? He was booed by doctors. What's wrong with you doctors? You don't want to become government bureaucrats after spending 25 years of working your butts off to become doctors?

The funniest part of his speech? After warning of all the doom and gloom that would be America if the government doesn't take over health care, he had the audacity to state that "we know there are those who will try to scuttle" the program no matter what. He said that "because these fear tactics have worked, things have kept getting worse." He says that opponents of his healthcare plan use "fear tactics"? Those in glass houses should not throw stones. That's all he does is try to scare us into doing what he wants. Remember what he said would happen if we didn't pass his precious spendulus bill asap? Well all of that and worse has happened.

The funniest part of this whole plan? He claims he has now found the $$ to pay for his socialized medicine plans. He claims to have found $313 billion in savings to pay for it. Wait, I thought this was going to cost us a trillion. And also, last I checked, he had spent $1 trillion on his stimulus package and gave us a $1 trillion deficit for this year. So the way I see it, he needs to take care of paying that off before mysteriously "finding money" for his health care plan.

Free Health Care for Everyone but Veterans!

Have you heard about Obama's latest brilliant idea? He is planning to force private insurance companies to pay for the treatment of military veterans who have suffered service-connected disabilities and injuries. Click here to read. Apparently during a meeting with senior officials from veterans service organizations on the proposal, Obama "refused to hear arguments about the moral and government-avowed obligations that would be compromised by it".

This is absolutely disgusting. I just don't get it. Obama wants to provide free healthcare for everyone (including bottom dwelling lifelong welfare recipients who have never held a job ever) but not our troops for injuries they received b/c WE sent them to battle for us? Now private insurance companies have to pay for medical care for our own troops? He disgusts me. I have never met such an unpatriotic person in my life, and he's the president!!

Also, this article from the NY Times says the Obama administration is open to taxing health care benefits in order to pay for his socialized medicine. Isn't that just great? So let's get all those with health insurance to pay an extra tax so those without it can have it for free. Let's get this straight, pretty soon those who don't work will get free health insurance and their mortgages paid for. Hmmm, sounds like a good time to retire to me. Why bother working when others can do it for me?
