Climate Change & National Security

Obama just decided to give eastern Europe a big screw you in order to suck up to Russia by scrapping Bush's plans to build a missile defense shield. The replacement system he is implementing instead is "likely to allay some of Russia's concerns" according to Robert Gibbs. Instead of siding with our allies, Poland and the Czech Republic, Obama chose "setting back the gradual progress toward repairing relations with Russia". And besides, why would Europe need a missile defense shield anyway? Click here to read more.

Another doozy: the Obama administration just concluded that a cap and trade law would cost American taxpayers up to $200 billion a year, the equivalent of hiking personal income taxes by about 15 percent. This equals $1,761 a household. All to combat "climate change". Wait, I thought it was global warming, no it's global cooling, no wait, the real problem is climate change. Click here to read more.

Typical Government Programs

Two for today, both from my favorite blog, michellemalkin.com:

- The first shows how government entitlements are rarely temporary and never cost less than we are told up front - Remember that $8,000 home credit for new buyers passed last November? 40 percent of all home buyers this year will qualify for it (sure wish I could take $8,000 off my mortgage!). It's going to cost the taxpayers $15 billion, more than twice the amount projected when it was passed. Skeptics say most of those people would have bought a home anyway, and unless it's allowed to expire in November as planned, it will become one more entitlement that fails to die. The "John Adams Project"

I just got this email from Bill O'Reilly. In it, he describes something called the "John Adams Project", which is a group of people involved with the ACLU who are sneaking around taking pictures of CIA agents who interrogated al-Qaeda suspects after 9/11. The group then gives the pictures to attorneys for the terrorists, hoping that one of the terrorists will claim that someone in the pictures tortured him.

O'Reilly says that only two newspapers have reported on this. I've never heard of it. Where's the outrage in the media? What does Obama say about it? NOTHING!! Oh, that's right, he's the one who wanted the "torture" investigated in the first place.

(On an unrelated note, didn't you just LOVE that Republican who shouted "that's a lie!" during Obama's speech? He was right, it was a lie and that whole speech was filled with lies and it's about time someone actually said it to his face. We are fighting for our healthcare system here people, it's not the time to play nice. And I am disgusted with the republicans who are scolding him).

Labor Unions at Their Finest - Thanks Obama!

What a sad day - our country's first 9/11 since George Bush. When I heard on TV about something the President and his wife were doing to commemorate Sept. 11, I automatically thought of George and Laura. Then the horror sunk in.

Many rail attacks by terrorists have occurred, in New Delhi, Mumbai, Chechnya, Madrid, and London. So Amtrak has an Office of Security Strategy and Special Operations (OSSO), full of experts in terrorist-butt-kicking. Each member underwent special training in rail security, marksmanship, etc. OSSO works with federal, state, and local authorities to detect and defend against terrorist attacks on railways. OSSO has also provided security for Bush, the Pope, the Democrat and Republican conventions, etc.

So what's this kick-a** group doing now? The east and west coast teams have not worked at counterterrorism since the summer. This occurred after the departure of an Amtrak VP and an Amtrak general inspector. The VP was instrumental in creating OSSO's predecessor. The Inspector unexpectedly "retired" and the VP was fired. Why?

A union that represents the Amtrak Police Dept. has been peeved that OSSO isn't unionized since it was formed. Biden is very tight with that union. OSSO is now magically under the control of the APD, which is unionized. OSSO's stimulus money has gone to the APD. The APD officers have repeatedly shown they don't understand counterterrorism.

Stay Out of Our Schools Obama

Yet another reason my daughters won't be attending government-run indoctrination programs - I mean schools:

Obama is planning to brainwash oops I mean address all schoolchildren on September 8. Teachers' manuals have been distributed with materials to be used to discuss the brainwashing session with questions students are supposed to ask themselves like:

What do you think the President wants us to do?

Does the speech make you want to do anything?

Are we able to do what President Obama is asking of us?

Sounds like students are supposed to race out and organize their communities according to Obama's vision. Can you imagine the outrage if Bush pulled this stuff?
